As a driver who brings groups here should be able to return to his room after taking them to london not come back close to midnight find no room and personal belongings missing and all you get is sorry. No fresh clothes to change into or nothing. Avoid it do yourself a favour

The view was lovely, but the walls are paper thin. All you hear are doors banging and kids screaming while running up and down the corridors...parents don't give a damn now

2 star standards at 5 star prices! The entire hotel needs some serious TLC, for starters the rooms were ok at best best the peeling wall paper, cracked doorways, sticky table, poor cleaning standards make it feel uncomfortable with the worst part being the aircon DO NOT BOOK IN THE SUMMER because it will be unbearable it does not work at all due to it being a shared system and windows can’t be opened either , the corridors leading to rooms are all so worn and poorly maintained and the carpet has lumps and bumps all the way through making it feel shoddy, we bought 3 kids meals and two adult meals (no starter or deserts) and it cost us £70! And again it was ok at best, the pool area is decent can’t complain there, the staff aren’t really bothered and there is no longer receptionist so no standard info is given upon check in, the only 5 star experience we had was with Joanne the host at breakfast she was genuinely the only person who was going out of there way to actually deliver a hotel service you need to keep her she is fantastic! The only reason this hotel is expensive is because it’s CWOA if not this would honestly not last 12 months it’s so poorly run and maintained and could be better for sure if someone from Merlin went down and put some proper investment into the upkeep.

We stayed at Chessington Hotel on 1st May 2026 with two rooms booked for two parties. When we returned from dinner, we found the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working. My wife was heavily pregnant at the time, so this was a real concern. A staff member came up, confirmed the air con was broken, and reception told us we would need to move rooms. We were reassured that the new room — although a better one — would be a free upgrade due to the inconvenience and because we had to move our children at 11:30pm. After returning home, we discovered we had been charged for this upgrade. No one mentioned a charge, no one asked for permission, and we certainly did not agree to it. Money was taken from our account without authorisation, which is unacceptable. The stay was already stressful, but being charged for something we were told was free has made the whole experience extremely disappointing. Still waiting for this to be resolved.

Can't fault it! Fabulous place for a family get away, views over the zoo. The room was nicely decorated and clean. And more importantly it was actually accessible with my wheelchair. Automatic door opening to the room - always a massive plus, accessible sink, a good number of grab rails and a level platform that was the right height to transfer from chair to the bath edge (needed a longer shower hose though). Staff happily brought up extra pillows to help me support myself better on bed too. Mini fridge, air conditioning (we went during the may heatwave so that was an absolute god send in itself). Ordered Uber every evening (stayed 3 nights, 2 adults 3 kids), which was easy and much cheaper than eating in the restaurants on site. The breakfast was ok, typical mass produced English breakfast (brake baked beans fans would be happy 😊).
