Really bad service and breakfast. Perhaps due to insufficient staff.

If you are looking for the ultimate convenience during a trip to Liverpool, the Premier Inn on Hanover Street (L1 4AF) is practically impossible to beat. Situated right on the edge of the Liverpool ONE shopping district, you have some of the city's best retail, dining, and nightlife options right on your doorstep, with Liverpool Central Station just a five-minute walk away. It serves as a highly reliable, cost-effective base for weekenders, shoppers, and business travellers alike, though it suffers from some typical high-volume budget hotel pain points. On the positive side, the hotel excels at its primary mission: a good night's sleep. Despite being situated right in the buzzing, lively heart of the city, the soundproofing is surprisingly effective. The rooms feature the brand's classic, incredibly comfortable "hypnos" beds, and they are generally kept clean, tidy, and well-regulated in terms of temperature. The option to upgrade to a "Premier Plus" room is a nice touch, offering faster Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, and a proper coffee machine. Additionally, the on-site Thyme restaurant serves up a decent, reliable breakfast buffet with plenty of unlimited hot and cold options, and kids under 15 eat for free with a paying adult—making it a massive money-saver for families. There is also discounted parking available at the secure Q-Park nearby, which is a rare and welcome luxury for a city centre hotel. The primary drawback is that the hotel can feel a bit like a victim of its own ideal location. Because it is a massive, high-occupancy property, the reception area can become incredibly chaotic during peak weekend check-in times. The self-check-in screens are handy when they work, but if there's a system glitch or a queue of confused guests, you can find yourself waiting in a packed lobby with very few staff on hand to manage the crowd. While the rooms are clean, they do have a somewhat stark, no-frills setup. Standard rooms lack simple comforts like a mini-fridge or a safe, and there are occasional minor maintenance oversights—such as slow-draining showers or sluggish Wi-Fi speeds on the basic free plan. Housekeeping has also moved to an "on-request" system for multi-night stays, which can feel a bit basic if you forget to book it at the desk. Ultimately, the Hanover Street Premier Inn is a solid, clean, and safe choice that offers fantastic value for money if you just need a comfortable bed in the center of the action. If you time your check-in outside the chaotic 3:00 PM rush and don't mind a lack of luxury amenities, it's a brilliant base for exploring Liverpool.

I had a fantastic stay at Premier Inn and couldn't be happier with my experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean throughout, from the reception area to the rooms. My room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, which made my stay relaxing and enjoyable. The food was excellent. The breakfast offered a great variety of fresh, high-quality options, with something to suit every taste. Dinner was equally impressive, with delicious meals that were well prepared and served promptly. Every meal exceeded my expectations. What truly made this stay special was the staff. Every member of the team was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure guests were comfortable and had everything they needed. Their positive attitude and outstanding customer service made a lasting impression. I would highly recommend Premier Inn to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable hotel with excellent food and exceptional staff. Thank you to the whole team for making my stay so enjoyable—I look forward to returning in the future.
