My husband, and myself alongside my brother, and sister in law, and her mother in law, plus other members of the family, stayed at this hotel,
We stayed for 2 nights from 12th to 14th June as we were attending a family wedding,on the the 13th... The hotel was immaculate, very comfortable bed, lovely hospitality tray in the room, plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits etc! The breakfast was amazing lots of choice, and plenty to choose from, the lady, front of house was superb, very polite and helpful and caring.
We loved our stay Thank you Holiday Inn Wigston you smashed it.10/10

A welcoming reception. Makes you feel homely as you step into the premises. The airport shuttle was a good addition. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

When traveling up and down the spine of England, this Holiday Inn is one of my go-to stops.
Superb location (just off the M1), spotlessly clean, lovely welcoming staff and a superb breakfast with lots of choice ..........what more could you want!?

My experience at this hotel has left me with the impression that some members of staff have forgotten a fundamental principle of hospitality: guests are not inconveniences to be tolerated.
While the facilities themselves are adequate, the attitude displayed by at least three members of staff has been consistently disappointing. There is an air of superiority in the way certain guests are spoken to, as though staff view themselves as being above the very people whose custom keeps the hotel operating. Rather than creating a welcoming environment, there seems to be a culture where some employees appear to take pleasure in being dismissive, patronising or unnecessarily abrupt.
What is particularly frustrating is that genuine professionalism does not require friendliness, but it does require respect. Guests should not feel as though they are being judged, spoken down to or treated as though they are a burden for simply existing within the hotel. Unfortunately, that has been my experience on multiple occasions.
I am currently staying here for an extended period, so I have had far more interaction with staff than the average overnight guest. This has allowed me to observe patterns of behaviour rather than isolated moments. Sadly, those observations have not been positive. The issue is not one individual having a bad day. It feels more like a mindset shared by several members of the team.
A hotel can invest heavily in its rooms, décor and facilities, but none of that compensates for an atmosphere where guests feel unwelcome or looked down upon. Respect costs nothing, yet its absence is often the first thing people remember.
Management would do well to reflect on whether the attitude displayed by certain members of staff genuinely represents the standards and values they wish their hotel to be known for.
