  Generally very good hotel with lovely décor. Bar was good, and thought the breakfast pretty comprehensive as well. Had a strange issue where I discovered a milk sachet stuck to the ceiling of my room. It was clearly a used sachet, and was stuck to the ceiling with a plaster. I kept on wondering what it could mean, and couldn't stop looking at it. I went down to reception and told them about it and my room number. The guy was very nice and very apologetic, said it hadn't happened before. I said, no problem but could they look into it. Go back later that evening and it was still there! Staring at me, and me staring at it. Found it quite disconcerting for the rest of the stay. My only current theory is that someone discovered or suspected a hidden camera there possibly as it's next to a light fitting and hatch, and so used it as a way of blocking that.

  This is a quality modern hotel on the south side of the railway station about 5-10 minutes walk with a suitcase. We started off in a small room which was really small, was noisy at night, and had stairs which were difficult to get a suitcase up. We upgraded to a bigger room without stairs. Breakfast was ok if not limited. The staff were very helpful with our arrangements.

  Unfortunately, what should have been a relaxing family night away turned into an extremely disappointing stay. We stayed at Hotel Indigo Leeds with our two-year-old son. I had previously stayed at the hotel when it first opened and had a really positive experience, which was one of the reasons I was happy to return. Unfortunately, our room was directly affected by extremely loud noise from the bar opposite the hotel. Even with all of the windows fully closed, the noise inside the room was incredibly loud and continued until approximately 5:15am. None of us were able to get a proper night’s sleep. At around midnight, I went down to Reception to complain. The staff acknowledged the noise and offered us earplugs, but unfortunately there was no alternative room available because the hotel was fully occupied. At checkout, I raised the issue again and was advised to contact the hotel manager. The hotel subsequently acknowledged in writing that the level and duration of the noise was “unacceptable” and had a “significant impact” on our stay. However, what has made this situation particularly disappointing is what I discovered afterwards. I found multiple previous guest complaints about the same noise issue, including one relating specifically to the exact room (132) we had been allocated. During our stay, hotel staff also told me that they were already aware of the problem and that, when rooms are available, they generally try to allocate guests away from that particular area because of the noise. I was also told that the hotel was putting together a case regarding the licensing/noise issue. I completely appreciate that the hotel cannot control a neighbouring bar and that some level of city-centre noise is to be expected. My issue is that this appears to be a known and recurring problem, yet guests are still being allocated and sold these rooms. For a family travelling with a two-year-old, being unable to sleep until after 5am was extremely difficult and completely changed the experience we had paid for. I have since escalated the matter to IHG Customer Care, who have apologised and confirmed that the issue has been documented at a corporate level for review. I hope the hotel genuinely addresses the underlying problem and, more importantly, is transparent with guests when allocating rooms known to be affected by it. A very disappointing experience, particularly given my previous positive experience with Hotel Indigo Leeds.

  Great location and excellent service and staff. Good breakfast and thoughtful vegetarian option. Room was so so. Had a funny smell which didn’t dissipate when we switched the aircon on. And the noise from the bar outside was horrendous. As a suggestion, rather than pretend it’s not there, staff could offer disposable ear plugs for rooms that are over the bar?

  Bit of a varied review. Stayed one night. Staff super friendly. Room/bed we got was smaller than expected but nicely decorated. We had a 3 course meal included. Got given regular menu and so we mentioned we were dinner bed and breakfast is it same menu, to be told yes 3 courses. So we ordered. To be fair im glad it was included as portions were tiny for the price. Went to order dessert to be told no ice cream or sorbet . 2 had nuts which hubby cant have, so he ordered sticky toffee pudding knowing it would come on its own as no ice cream. By this point there was only us eating. After 20mins the girl brought our spoons. 10 more mins and she asks are we still waiting for dessert. Yes. We got offered a free drink and desserts were on way. They arrived.. with ice cream that we got told they didnt have lol..but the pudding itself was cold. .as if they had heated in microwave 30mins earlier and forgot about it so added warm toffee sauce on top.... Next morning breakfast. Guy explained how it worked and said hot breakfast was self service. .. think they need to use a different word as its not self service. You go to the kitchen counter and the chef plates up from hot plates what you ask for... coffee was filter coffee which was cold by time we finished eating. Then comes check out . Saying we had £25 allowance each for dinner.... erm no. Noone told us that and the website states 3 course meal. £25 for the prices on the menu would have only giving you one course. Or a starter and dessert. Explained the girl told us 3 course off the menu. so they wiped the bill. Got a phone call a few days later saying we still had the drinks to pay for... which to be fair was fine, we expected that but since they wiped the bill we assumed the drinks were also cleared as a good gesture. But we were happy to pay for drinks we had. Great location, staff super friendly. had no Palma violet gin but suggested a blackcurrant gin with a violet liqueur...which was delicious. Also 1 packet of broken biscuits for 2 people room was abit stingy too lol...
