The Holiday Inn Hotel was a big let down especially as it is a 4star hotel.
The cleanliness was very poor as there were multiple issues with our room, i.e.: Mould in various parts of the bathroom, smell from the carpet which smelled of dog which was very off putting, ink mark on ceiling, cob webs in multiple areas around the room, we had to complain about the pillows and get them to replace with new ones, the evening food was not great at all we had to serve ourselves with the food, the menu choice was completely different to what was provided around the hotel, I had to complain about it as one of the choices was a mince onion pie which was horrible looking plus I don't like onions, there was veg wellington which I couldn't eat as it was fake meat, I had chips gravy and runner beans so I strongly complained and eventually came out with some chicken. it was as if it’s only a tour group let’s give them any rubbish. On the second evening they changed our food times without telling the driver as they had a second tour group come in. The next morning our breakfast food time was chaotic as the second group was having breakfast at the same time which meant everything took longer and I to rush my food to get on the coach to leave. the driver had asked them to let us have an earlier sitting; they refused to accommodate which was completely ridicules as they expected us to change our evening mealtime without consulting the driver. our overall experience of this hotel was not good, defiantly won't staying there again.
I took photos of our room which we paid for a premium room, we certainly didn't get value for our money.

Staff were great. Had dinner (paid for) and breakfast (part of the room deal) there. Food was good, especially the burger. We asked for a small change in the ingredients which they were able to accommodate. Lady working the night shift wearing glasses (sorry didn't get name) was particularly helpful. Our room could have been more "fresher". Stained carpet, and extractor fan not working so bathroom was muggy. Shower was very nice. Bed was comfy although the pull out sofa bed was noisy and not very comfortable. Found it weird that there are steps down to the rooms and no lift. It wasn't just my family that noticed that. I saw other guests struggling with their big luggage bags down the steps. Whilst they have these wheelchair lifts on the actual stairs, I could imagine them being quite cumbersome to use. Still....there's only a few steps, perhaps 15 in total. Just something to be aware of. Free and ample parking is a plus! A couple of us used the gym. It was adequate.

Rooms were comfy with ensuite. Reasonable amount of sockets, iron, tea making, hair dryer. TV and wifi good. Only things that were niggling was lack of lift and having to carry luggage up and down number of flights of stairs and the menu was reduced when you went down to the restaurant (Thursday night). Food was good though but limited and all the staff were lovely

Terrible, our toilet was broken. Four times they tried to fix it even at four in the morning. Eventually got another room that was tiny. There wasn't much choice in food and what there was was cold. No Cider on draught, no Guinness. I've been going to holiday inn for 30 years and always enjoyed staying there. Will definitely not be going back to the garforth one

They phoned and canceled my booking of three rooms at 6pm on the night we were supposed to check in. Told us they had overbooked - offered us alternative accommodation at their sister hotel 25 miles in the opposite direction that were were travelling to the next day, we had no choice so accepted the offer only to find they didn’t know of our booking and had no room …. After 5 phone calls and being on hold for nearly 2 hours this was not a good service.
