  Standard premier inn hotel in good location. Stayed the night and had breakfast after attending a football match. Would stay again.

  The staff are the one and reason to review highly. They really do make the stay enjoyable and welcome you in. The rooms however and the buildings are very very tired, some staff are seen running around from reception to the pub and we’ve even seen them in corridors cleaning rooms trying their best to make everything as good as they can. Don’t get me wrong the place is as clean as they can make it but the building is falling down around them and they seem to be left alone to try and fix what they can. Feels like the company really let their staff down at this premier inn however they’re still full of smiles and really top notch service. Please premier inn look after your own and get this place a refresh.

  One star, and it has nothing to do with the room. It is about being charged £95 for parking at a hotel I had already paid in full to stay in, and then being told by that hotel that they could not find my booking and would not help me. We stayed three nights in May. We gave our car registration to reception at check-in, once, which is what they ask you to do. Weeks later a parking charge arrived from the car park operator, dated the morning we checked out (not the first 3 days). A relative of ours was staying at the same hotel and checked out at midday on the same Monday. He registered his car once at the same desk, and the receptionist told him he could park until Monday afternoon. He received no charge at all. When I asked the hotel to sort it out, I was told they could not locate or verify my booking on their systems, could not confirm the registration against the reservation, and would not contact the parking operator on my behalf (incompetent and lazy). I had given them the booking reference, the guest name and the dates. They told me they could take it no further. Three months on it is still unresolved and now sits with Whitbread's executive team. The room was perfectly acceptable. That is not the point. If a hotel cannot find a booking you are holding a confirmation for, and leaves you to fight a parking company on your own over it, the room does not matter. If you stay here, keep your booking confirmation and get your registration confirmed in writing at the desk. Updated 17 Aug 2026: Based on Premier Inn's response, we have tried contacting on various sources, resolver.co.uk, guest-relations (web form and email), etc but not a single response from anyone. So, stop sending automated response instead reply to the actual issue.
