Absolutely rude people I bought for 3 days I had to leave the next day as I upgraded my room because I'm on diamond elite they did not tell me two beds have been joined together and as I was sleeping through the night the two beds separated and I was halfway down sleeping as I have got a stomach problem and colitis and pancreas problem how to call my family the next day to help me to lift my luggage as I could not even lift my luggage the next day few days later I ended up in hospital the management tournament that will call me but they have not even called me back ever since even the two girls who work at the front desk I've got no sort of smile or anything they are completely dry and not even welcoming people it's like walking into somewhere like you are in trouble it's just no sort of customer care even not a smile
If this does not get dealt with I'll be taking this lot further with all my hospital reports I would like phone call back from a manager
sincerely

Excellent new hotel with very spacious rooms which have a great modern feel.
The dimmable lights are an excellent idea.
Only negatives were the fan in the bathroom is very loud and isn't on a separate circuit to the lights.

Please avoid this place, there is plenty of better hotels than this worst place.

Don’t be fooled by the website and the app both saying “parking is available”.
They don’t tell you but you MUST PREBOOK AND PREPAY. And it’s a rip off £20 as well. 😡😡.
PARKING is not available if you just turn up with your prepaid reservation like we did.
However after 30 minutes wait they did fund us a spot, but had the web and app been honest, we would not have had any of the associated stress.
Nevertheless, to be fair to Voco the rest of the overnight stay was excellent.
Clean spacious, nicely laid out room. Big shower too! Very quiet despite central location.
Evening meal was excellent.
Breakfast also good albeit we only had the buffet.

My stay at Voco Leicester was unfortunately a very mixed experience.
To start with the positives, our initial interaction with Kelly was lovely and set a really positive tone. She recommended extra pillows and was absolutely right, so it immediately gave me confidence and raised expectations for the stay. The chef at breakfast also deserves recognition as he was excellent and accommodated my request immediately without any issue.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience became increasingly disappointing. What started as a room phone issue quickly became much bigger than that. I repeatedly struggled to contact reception and, as someone with mobility difficulties, this had a significant impact. Instead of being able to resolve things from my room, I found myself making repeated journeys involving long walks and multiple lifts just to reach reception.
What was particularly frustrating was feeling as though the wider impact was not being understood. The focus often seemed to move to the details of what I was requesting rather than the fact that I had no reliable way to contact reception in the first place. I repeatedly found myself having to explain my mobility difficulties and prompt for solutions rather than feeling that support was being proactively offered.
Communication also felt inconsistent. Concerns that had already been raised did not seem to be handed over between staff members and promised callbacks did not happen when expected. By the end, the issue felt much less about a faulty phone and much more about communication, accessibility and feeling heard.
Kelly was professional when we eventually spoke and acknowledged that the information passed to her had not reflected the full picture of my experience, which I appreciated.
A 4 star hotel experience is not only about the room itself. It is also about service, communication and making guests feel supported when things go wrong. Sadly, despite some lovely individual staff interactions, I left feeling dismissed, overlooked and as though asking for support had become a burden rather than a reasonable request.
I am currently still waiting for the outcome of the investigation into the concerns raised and hope it provides some clarity around what happened and whether any learning or improvements will come from the experience.
**UPDATE 26/5/26 Since posting my original review I have now spent considerable time attempting to resolve matters directly with both the hotel and IHG. I was later informed that the room phone had been tested by maintenance and found to be fully operational. This unfortunately reinforced one of my original concerns because if the phone itself was functioning correctly, then my repeated inability to contact reception becomes a wider concern regarding access to assistance and communication rather than a simple technical fault.
I was also disappointed to later be informed that because I had posted a public review before the hotel's investigation concluded, no goodwill gesture would now be considered. This was despite the fact I had already repeatedly raised concerns directly during and after my stay, requested management support and provided detailed written feedback when asked.
For clarity, the hotel and IHG themselves had also sent review and feedback invitations following my stay and at no stage was I advised that providing honest feedback whilst the investigation remained ongoing could impact how the matter would subsequently be handled.
My concern has never simply been the original issue itself, but rather the handling of the situation once staff became aware of my mobility difficulties and limited ability to repeatedly travel between my room and reception.
