  I really want to be able to give this 5 stars but I wasn't at the hotel long enough. I took my wife here for her 40th birthday but had to leave after just a few hours due to a family emergency. The bits I did experience where great shower was nice staff where nice the bar was quiet and relaxed. I would love to come back and re try again soon but due to the cost(it's a luxury hotel) for me and my wife it's just cost to much. I will say we did look at the food menu while we were in the bar and the prices looked very reasonable for the type of establishment and the drinks prices where reasonable aswel. All in all I would say give it a go I just wish I could have tried the bed and reviewes the breakfast aswel

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Voco Leicester. The rooms were big and everything was well thought out from the lighting and the seating areas and the placement of PowerPoints. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen was good quality. The air conditioning worked really well and although the hotel is right opposite the hospital we didn't hear any noise at all. The shower was really good and there were good quality toiletries to use as well as a good range of teas, coffees & biscuits. All the staff we met were lovely. The only slight niggle was the lack of a proper lobby area and the way you have to get two lifts (or stairs and a lift) to your room.

  The staff were very welcoming from arrival through to breakfast as well as the Housekeeping staff. We needed a late check out and the check in staff checked our IHT membership and said that we could keep the room until 2pm complementary as we were members. The Hotel is kept very clean with coffee/ hot chocolate and biscuits in the bedroom. Breakfast is also very good especially with a machine that makes fabulous espresso; there is a good selection of fried eggs/ scrambled/ grilled tomatoes/ sliced and grilled potatoes/ beans/ croissants / cheeses/ fruit selection and cereals. We found the parking a bit too steep at £20.00; we would have accepted half this amount if offered to us especially as we could see spaces when we arrived at 1.30am as would have been beneficial for the hotel and us. Instead we parked at Euro Car Parks at £5.69 for 24 hours and booked via Just Park as cheaper by £1.00, the walk is Appx 10 minutes to the hotel on the road and about 8 minutes through the park. We left our luggage at reception while we collected the car, there is a very small space outside the hotel to load and unload luggage, and unfortunately this was coned off so we had to partially block the road for a minute. The not so great things were, the bathroom shower door would not shut properly as it had dropped by 1cm, the metal fixings had moved on the adjacent glass panel that was holding up the door and looked as if would fall down anytime and break, the USB on the socket did not work by the bedside. The TV has a very annoying way to change channels, you cannot just press one button to go up or down a channel, instead you have to go through the guide page and follow a few more steps just to move from channel 1 to 2..!!!! Crazy..!!

  I will start off with the positive. Definitely great value for money. I thought the hotel was lovely. The location is perfect just on the outskirts of the center right next to the hospital. It being next to the the tigers rugby ground is a bonus. The design and decor are great a little quirky and I love that. The staff are fantastic, friendly and polite always smiling. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The bed is amazing. Myself and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast during our stay and I think that was the highlight for my daughter. While rating my stay I would really love to give 5stars but there just two niggles that let down my stay. 1) Day one of my stay housekeeping knocked and asked if we needed any towels or anything else. I informed him we were good for towels but we were going out in half hour and could he come in replace the finished toiletries in the bathroom and just some general house keeping.. he said he was in a hurry to finish his shift but his friend will do the room just make sure I leave the relevant card on the door. Returned hours later to find the room exactly how it was left ( bins needed emptying and empty toiletries) minor worries as I did have my own essentials. Wasn’t that big a deal but was noted. 2) this was by no means the hotels fault but this is what put a big dampener on my stay and actually left me quite agitated. Saturday there was a function in the conference rooms and our bedroom was right above it. The noise levels were atrocious. From our room you could hear every word and feel every beat till the point we couldn’t hear the tv unless we had it ridiculously loud. After about 10 o’clock and my daughter couldn’t get to sleep due to the noise I asked reception what time the event ended and asked for some earplugs, which interestingly enough, they didn’t have. I was informed that the event finished by 12, by this time I was annoyed and exhausted because I booked an hotel for peace and quiet and a good nights sleep which myself and daughter didn’t get. I think maybe it would Be nice if guests were warned about upcoming events so to ask maybe not to roomed right about the conference rooms or at least no to put guests with young children above as the noise was definitely excessive and left me fuming for the rest of my stay especially having to travel early near day. With that being said I would stay here again as it’s a lovely hotel with great staff and ideally situated.

  Terrible service and absolutely unacceptable I am extremely disappointed with the service at voco Leicester by IHG. I booked a few days in advance and specifically checked that the hotel had on-site parking, as I was travelling a long distance after work. I therefore had no reason to expect any issues. I tried calling the hotel repeatedly from the morning of my arrival, but nobody ever answered the phone. I also sent messages and received no response. When I finally arrived, I was told the car park was full and was given an alternative address. The address was completely unclear and took me towards a different area near a hospital. I spent around an hour driving around trying to find the recommended parking, while repeatedly trying to call the hotel for help. Again, nobody answered. Eventually, I went to the Novotel Hotel, where the staff were absolutely fantastic and gave me the support and assistance I needed. I even tried calling voco Leicester from the Novotel’s phone because I could not get through on my own phone and still, nobody answered. What makes this even worse is that I specifically asked the receptionist at voco to have the manager call me. I am still waiting. I have received no call whatsoever. Later that night, when I finally managed to get through to someone around 11pm–midnight, I was told, “Sorry, I was busy. I had loads of customers.” That is not an acceptable excuse for a hotel. When I had been at reception earlier, there were no customers waiting. To make matters worse, my car subsequently broke down while I was returning, meaning I genuinely needed assistance. This was exactly why having a hotel that actually answers its phone was important. I travelled a long way, worked all day, and simply wanted somewhere to park and get a good night’s sleep. Instead, I spent hours stressed, driving around Leicester, with virtually no support. Very unprofessional service and an extremely disappointing experience. The complete lack of communication, failure to answer the phone, unclear parking information, and failure of management to even call me back are simply unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.
