After a long flight I arrived at this hotel expecting at least a basic welcome, but instead was met by a man and woman at reception who immediately pointed me towards a touchscreen self check-in monitor (which honestly looked like a McDonald’s ordering screen)
There was:
• no greeting
• no interest in my stay
• no “how are you?”
• absolutely no customer service whatsoever
Because of this I had no idea where my room was. I had to ask where I was going and the lady quickly rattled off directions so fast I could barely follow them.
When I finally got through the first door I couldn’t find the lift. I was travelling with two heavy suitcases so I had to poke my head back around reception to ask where the lifts were, only to be told they don’t have one. I explained I’d recently had arm surgery and asked if someone could possibly help me with my suitcase upstairs. The receptionist (I believe her name was Isabelle, working the evening of Thursday 7th May) visibly huffed before reluctantly coming around to help.
Other issues during the stay:
• no clean bath towels provided daily
• pubic hair in the plughole
• blood on the bedsheets
• room not cleaned properly
• constant drunk men shouting outside at night
What upset me most was the complete lack of warmth or human interaction. If an elderly person came to stay here and their only interaction that day was with these staff members, I’d honestly find that really upsetting. Hospitality costs nothing, and making people feel welcome should be the bare minimum in this industry!!!
Overall, extremely disappointing service and cleanliness standards. I would not stay here again.

The hotel is fine and the location is fine. Food in the Social Restaurant was underwhelming and would recommend you eat elsewhere. Room was a standard Premier Inn room and was fine. For the price it is good.

The place was easy to find with Sat Nav. Plenty of parking and disabled bays. Room was close to exit and restaurant which I really liked. Very comfy bed, room amenities were good, enjoyed the espresso machine and fridge. Wasn’t keen on the food in the restaurant, didn’t like the evening meal, just wasn’t to my taste, had the fish and chick peas with tomato sauce, cooked breakfast was very greasy, there wasn’t a filter coffee option just a coffee machine serving latte, espresso etc. Pre ordered the meal deal and wasn’t told at the time the pint of Heineken was not included in the meal deal, just told I needed to pay an extra £1.50 which is fine, but the meal deal menu is a bit misleading. It says Heineken is included in the meal deal, but only 330ml, not a pint which I later found out. The lady I was discussing it with had a bit of an attitude which I didn’t like saying ‘what do you expect me to do about it’. I asked if I could write to someone and she said there was no one, which everyone knows is not the case. Was attending my Mum’s funeral that day so didn’t want to spend time in a confrontational situation. No problem paying the £1.50, just think there should be some clarification between paying an extra £1.50 when ordering and that how a pint is not 330ml.
