Great stay and service
We stayed 4 nights, clean room and bath, close to public transport, Victoria warehouse and the stadium but still a calm place.
Even though we couldn’t spontaneously use early check in because so many people came in at once, we were able to leave our luggage in a closed room for the day. Later my extra wish of a separate blanket was fulfilled as well
I once missed breakfast but the receptionist still made me a coffee, great guy.
Would recommend!

We always book Premier Inns when we visit the UK as they are great value, comfortable and the breakfasts are great.
This hotel was no exception. But, we'd definitely prefer a walk-in shower and one major problem that we came across is that, as my husband sleeps with a CPAP machine, we need a proper plug socket by the bed. This seems like an unfortunate oversight in Premier Inns but should be addressed as CPAP machines are not all that uncommon.
Also, there were 3 of us in our room so why only 2 cups??
I've stayed at Premier Inn many times over the years, so I was disappointed by my recent two-night stay in Manchester.
The air conditioning in my room stopped working during the first night, leaving the room very hot. I reported it to receptionist (not a great person) the following day. The receptionist initially said it was working, but eventually came to the room and confirmed that it wasn't. I was told the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do, so I was given a fan instead, which was also very noisy.
I contacted customer services during my stay and later followed up after returning home. I was then told that maintenance had checked the air conditioning after I had left and found it working. My original complaint had apparently not been logged by reception, and nobody asked to see the video I had taken of the issue.
I completely understand that things can malfunction, and I understand that a fully booked hotel may not have another room available. What I find disappointing is that a problem reported during my stay was not properly recorded, and the complaint was then dismissed because the fault couldn't be reproduced after I had left.
I've never experienced this with Premier Inn before, which is why this was particularly disappointing. I hope the company reviews how these complaints are handled and that this derails someone from choosing to stay in such a place. Everyone deserves a good experience.
EDIT 23/07/2026: We have been offered a refund of half of the room charge by the Guest Relations team. Apparently, having an insect on the bed in one room and stains everywhere in another room is only worthy of a half refund. So much for the Good Night Guarantee!
Original review:
We found a live reddish-brown insect crawling on the bedding in room 416, along with multiple dark marks on the sheets. We reported it immediately and were moved to room 504. Unfortunately, the replacement room also had stained bedding, reddish-brown marks and debris on the mattress, while the bathroom had visible grime and residue. Photographs are attached, although I unfortunately cannot attach the video showing the insect crawling across the original bed.
I am genuinely shocked by the number of positive reviews.
The shift duty manager, Jo Kelly, told us that he could not issue a refund because the general manager was absent. We were offered only a drink and directed to telephone Guest Relations the following day. It was around 7:30pm, and we had driven over 5 hours to Manchester, so this did nothing to resolve our immediate situation as we needed somewhere to stay and couldn't just turn back home. We lost confidence in the cleanliness of the hotel, had to leave, and pay a premium for emergency accommodation elsewhere at very short notice. We were not offered any help or reimbursement for this, despite staff knowing our situation (we had nowhere else to go for the night so we had to emergency book elsewhere).
Jo did say that he would exempt my vehicle registration from the parking system, as it would have been completely unreasonable to charge us for the short time we were there under these circumstances. I left my car reg number and my name on a piece of paper. I am now left hoping that a parking notice does not arrive my way, as I am aware its Horizon who owns the car park and not Premier Inn.
We also waited approximately 10–15 minutes at the unattended reception desk, repeatedly ringing the bell, before anybody responded to our urgent concern about an insect on the bed.
We now have to take precautions with and heat-treat our clothing, pursue our refund ourselves through Guest Relations, and absorb the additional cost and disruption caused by booking another hotel at the last minute. If a parking charge does arrive, I will have to challenge that aswell.
And what do we get in return for all this hassle? Paid good money for this room and we can't even get it refunded on the same day of the incident lol. Utter joke.
Absolutely shocking room conditions and extremely poor handling of the situation. Plenty of apologies, and very little action. Im not booking a Premier Inn again this.
Enjoy the photos ☺️
