  A good Premier Inn closed to Stevenage Old Town, about 15-20 minute walk. The receptionist was very polite and helpful, she went over all aspects with us at check-in. This Prem Inn doesn't have Air-con but there was a large powerful fan in the room, which helped with the heat. The room was clean and tidy and quiet. Carparking is available and free, just enter your registration at reception. Stairs and lift to the upper floors.

  The lack of air con makes for an unacceptably uncomfortable stay. The room was genuinely like an oven even with the fan that was provided. It would have been better to sleep outside in the car park, as that was about 10 degrees cooler. There's no point asking staff for help because there is literally nothing they can do to change it, other than agree with you that it is too hot. I will never stay here again.

  Lovely staff but not enough of them! Service is compromised with this but they do try their best. Rooms are clean but what lets it down with our heatwaves is no AC. Very very disappointed to have seen this wasnt an option upon arrival. They had a lovely "fancy" 360 desk fan which was nice in the room. But altogether with 27 degree heat and windows that barely open - for obvious heath and safety reasons - not the best! Pillows very flat, but sleep was lovely. Again, the staff are lovely people and genuinely try to be everywhere at once, but very clear that they are stretched and couple do with more pairs of hands. Especially with local festivals and such going on at the weekend as it was.

  I recently had the pleasure of interacting with the manager, and I can’t express how grateful I am for their exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome that made me feel right at home. Their helpfulness was evident in every interaction, as they went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met. It’s rare to find such dedication and genuine care in customer service. Thank you Tara for making my experience so memorable!

  We stayed for a family wedding, and as with other reviews, we cannot praise the staff enough . From arrival, everyone has been so friendly and helpful, apologising for the lack of aircon and checking that everything was ok with our stay. The room was a standard Premier Inn room but the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and, in the heat, just made up with a sheet. There was a fan that did its very best but the lack of aircon was a problem when trying to get ready for a wedding 🥵🥵, not the staff's fault but issue for us. What I did love was having having our breakfast cooked to order, and done beautifully by the multitasking receptionist/chef 😊
