It is a review of the Letchworth Hall Hotel, which we booked for our wedding on Friday.
This review is going to be of no use to anyone who wants to find faults with a place before attending, if you are that sort of person scroll on.
From the very start our total experience has been exceptional. The building itself is beautiful, a 500-year-old manor house, which was fully renovated earlier this year. The result is brilliant, mixing the old with a very contemporary feel.
We met Sam, the wedding planner on our first visit, she has been incredible, easing us through the arrangements, always answering queries very quickly and having a totally positive can-do attitude. We arranged a wedding for 50 people including a number of children and babies. It was arranged as an indoor wedding; however, Sam changed it to a spectacular outdoor event on the day because the weather was so nice. The staff were very flexible and we even carried on to a very pleasant after party in the bar.
The meal for the wedding was great, a 3-course meal with every course having 3 selections plus a vegetarian option. A really nice selection well cooked and served professionally. So many of our guests commented on the quality of the food.
I stayed for 2 nights, the first in a normal room and the second in the bridal suite, both rooms were large, clean, well equipped and comfortable. I am not going to describe the Bridal Suite, if you want a treat, book it!
I now come to the most fantastic part of the whole experience, the staff. Over the 3 days I stayed I met numerous staff members and without exception they were friendly, helpful and totally competent. I am going to book a meeting with the manager because this aspect of the hotel stood out a mile. Nearly all of our guests commented on one aspect or another of great customer service they received. I am not going to single out individuals because all the staff went way over and above to make our wedding an absolute delight.
In conclusion, I will state that this hotel is an elite venue. Having our wedding there was the best decision we could make. They made our day very special. The Marston Suite was brilliant for our 50 guests; it could easily hold another 20 or so. The Hotel then has an even bigger ballroom for larger events. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it for any event, or to stay in if you are visiting the area. I would go as far as to say if you want a personal testimony contact the hotel and ask them to contact me and I will get in touch. It was wonderful.
