This was our third visit to this hotel, and yet again we had a very comfortable stay.
We had a warm welcome from Tariq, the manager, on check in. We were booked in for the dinner/breakfast meal deal and evening table reservation was made. At the same time, allergen information was taken (I’m gluten-free with a couple of other allergies).
The Premier Plus room with river view, as always, was immaculate and well-presented with all the facilities available.
Tariq was also our server in the restaurant. We were directed to our table, upon where the allergen information had been placed in readiness. The whole experience was faultless, with Tariq checking in with the chef to ensure my choices were available and suitable for me. I had tried to order a burger which, on the online version of the gluten-free menu shows as available. Unfortunately, this wasn’t available at this branch, so I chose the chicken makhani curry instead, which was delicious! Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to come with a poppadom and mango chutney that’s suitable for gluten-free customers.
After a comfortable night, we went down for breakfast where we were sat and served by Michelle. Massive praise for her, as she was the first server we’ve had at breakfast to offer me fresh cutlery, crockery, cup, and glass to ensure there was no cross-contamination by other customers from that which was out already.
I knew from our second visit that I could order my cooked breakfast to be ordered fresh straight from the chef, again to avoid cross-contamination at the buffet, and Michelle took my order. What I wasn’t aware, until Michelle brought it out (just in case I wanted it!), was that they have Schär packets of muesli which are free of both gluten and the nuts to which I’m allergic! I was so delighted and grateful for this gesture, and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to join in with my partner having a cereal before the cooked breakfast. Michelle deserves particular recognition for her attention to allergen detail, and thoughtfulness to customers.
We look forward to returning.
