Excellent hotel with nice chill A/C especially when we went in the heatwave. Lovely breakfast and extremely friendly staff. Not too far from central London as well

We have stayed twice here and the staff are very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms we had were spacious and clean also doggy friendly as a lot of the staff we spoke to were either pet owners themselves or liked pets and made a fuss over our Jack Russell Terrier Rhodri. The breakfast was good and plentyful and kept well stocked throughout service time. The Holiday Inn Express Hemel Hempstead is reasonable price for the London area also the train station is literally 5 minute walk across the road for trains onto London, the Great Canal walks just 5 minute walk away very peaceful to take our dog for a long or short walk there are cafes in the canal basin and day canal boats for hire (book in advance is recommended) there is a pub that serves food just a 5 minute walk away and there is a supermarket 5 minute drive away handy if you want to plan a picnic in the park that's got a petrol station attached very useful for filling up before your long journey home or use the train to get into London only about 45 minutes away. A good base to stay for the surrounding area and visiting the capital city.
