    Stayed at Sandy Balls for a 4 night midweek stay in half term. Lots of disappointing things over the few days. Decking of the lodge very messy when we arrived, not been swept. Fingerprints and hand prints all over TV. Windows dirty, black mould round the shower, cobwebs all over lodge. Hot tub not checked for two days, had to chase them up when it started smelling. Fish and Chip order went to another park despite selecting the right one on the app. When we mentioned this the staff in the pub said it happened all the time. This was after an hour of waiting, so we didn’t have food. Then we went to the meeting point for the Doggy foam party that we had been looking forward to, we and three other families were stood there like plums for it not to go ahead the advertised place. When we told Guest Relations they just said it had changed location, and told us not to rely on the app!! But even on the printed activity list it was advertised at the location we went to. We raised this as a complaint twice and we were told twice that someone would contact us, and still nobody has contacted us regarding this. £1700 for four nights and we feel like we’ve been ripped off.

    I stayed at woodland lakes park last week and the carbon monoxide detector started to intermittently bleep. I informed reception of it, and an operative came to the lodge with a couple of replacement batteries for it, which he duly fitted. He then said that if it resumed bleeping to take the batteries out of it and leave it on the table as we were vacating the following morning, and there was a second detector fitted above the kitchen area which would give us the necessary protection. At approximately 00:30 hours that night the detector over the kitchen area started to bleep. We were forced to stand on a chair to reach the second detector, and on changing the batteries it too carried on bleeping to alert us to a problem with it. I am not qualified in any way to attempt to fault diagnose the detector, but I suspect that the replacement batteries the operative supplied were at the end of their lives. So this detector joined the other one on the table. I reported the events to reception, who offered me a percentage of my stay costs as a good will gesture. I accepted this, as it seemed to be a reasonable acceptance by the company of the situation. However, an agent of the company phoned as I was driving home, and the phone diverted the call to voicemail, and the agent had left a message to call him back on the same number. I attempted to call him back, but my phone was unable to connect with the number, which I suspect was a dedicated out line and would not accept incoming calls. On the Tuesday after the bank holiday I phoned the only number I had for Woodland lakes, spoke to the operative who said he would message the park to contact me. I received no communication from the park, so phoned the only number I have, and fortunately for me I spoke to an agent who took a couple of details from me and actioned the refund. My impression of Away resorts is that despite the advertising and marketing the company is staffed by people who have had very little instruction on how to do their jobs efficiently and effectively.

    First time staying with Away Resorts (Cleethrope Pearl) lovely holiday park with lots of activities for families to do.Stayed in a comfort caravan when arrived was disappointed with the inside of the caravan it was very basic it looked tired and it needs to be up dated and modernised,(not what it looked like in the picture when booking)the caravan looked out of place where it was as it was next to all of the Oakwood and Burst of Blue caravans (just didn't seem to fit in). However we still had a lovely time visiting Cleethorpes and surrounding areas

    Stayed this week in bluebells28 on sandy balls, great lodge and great Monday to friday week, That much so, we are looking at booking a week for the end of november.

    We booked a stay for just over £200 only to check back shortly after to see that it was then £150. when we raised this with them the staff were defensive and unhelpful, disappointing not so much the price change but how it was handled.
