  Perfectly situated for our needs. Restaurant and bar. Lovely quiet room. Next to train station for anyone travelling by train. Lovely staff and tasty food.

  I have to say I visited today after long travel and I want to ensure Emma gets recognition for making time spent in food hall a pleasure. She had high standards in customer service with a smile and welcoming chat and hard work and again thank you for making the end if our stay that bit more comfortable and we will be back

  Room was fine, your typical Premier Inn room. My problem was with the restaurant and it overshadowed the rest of my stay. I'd booked the meal deal in advance and this was confirmed when I checked in. I was seated at a table, handed a menu and then left for a long time. When a waitress finally came back to my table I asked if she could remind me of what the meal deal covered. With an attitude she asked if I meant drinks or food, when I replied both she went off, picked up the meal deal info sheet, handed it to me and walked off again. The service was terrible and unbelievably slow throughout my 90 minutes (!!) in the restaurant. When I finally managed to flag down someone and ask for the bill I was told I should go and pay at the bar, would have been nice to have been told this earlier. When I asked to pay at the bar the waitress was going to bill me for the meal deal, despite me having mentioned to her earlier that I'd paid in advance. The food was also completely mediocre. If something is described as teriyaki salmon I assume it will have been cooked with a coating or marinade, not to be given a completely plain piece of fish with sauce in a pot on the side. All in all not an experience I'd want to repeat and when returning to Thurso I'd look to stay somewhere else.

  I’m surprised things used to be much better in premier inn I stayed in Premier Inn after a long time in Thurso. Was surprised to see if there was no telephone in the room to contact the reception. And secondly, when I asked to clean the room- On the third day of my four days stay - Nothing was done. I came back to the hotel In the evening thinking, my room would be clean and tidy and I can relax I was highly disappointed to see nothing was done. I went back to the reception- The receptionist Told me that she is not a cleaner and it’s not her fault that the room hasn’t been cleaned. Her job is not to clean the rooms. That’s not what I had asked her. My question to her was I requested for a room clean and it hasn’t been done.. The receptionist staff further argued I am sorry it hasn’t been done, but I can’t do anything now. She also asked me at one point what is it that you want done? And I think that was a ridiculous question. A room clean means usual stuff- hoover, clean the bin, change the cups, change the towels clean the bathroom and change the bedding. But she wanted a list from me, which annoyed me even further. She saw her manager approaching the desk, she completely I’ll clear and said I’ll go and clean your room. The manager intervened as I think he could smell something wasn’t right and on explaining what happened - He said he will go and do it and he did, which was really kind of him.. But I must say, the standards are getting pushed and squeezed And does it now have that value for money?

  Meine Frau und unsere Tochter haben bereits mehrfach in PremierInn-Hotels übernachtet und waren auch jedes Mal zufrieden. Daher haben wir für unsere Rundreise durch Schottland auch das PremierInn in Thurso für die Übernachtung vom 31.08.-01.09. ausgewählt. Leider waren wir alles andere als zufrieden. Es fing bereits bei unserem Check-In an. An der Rezeption saß niemand, sodass wir uns an einem der beiden Self Check-In-Terminals versuchten einzuchecken. Leider brach das Terminal beim Versuch der Erstellung der Zimmertür-Karten ab. Zwischenzeitlich saß dann eine Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption, die uns zwar innerhalb von 2 Minuten die Karten erstellen konnte, dabei aber keinerlei Wort mit uns wechselte, selbst bei der Übergabe der Karten nicht. Am Abend ging es dann leider weiter mit unseren schlechten Erfahrungen. Eigentlich wollten wir im Restaurant essen gehen. Nachdem uns aber 4 Servicekräfte am Eingang trotz geringem Betrieb mehrere Minuten nicht beachteten, entschieden wir uns dann, ein anderes Restaurant aufzusuchen. Dies waren aber immer noch nicht alle negativen Erfahrungen. Am Morgen gab es ein Problem mit der Warmwasserversorgung, sodass nur lauwarmes Wasser aus der Dusche kam. Soweit ja noch o.k. und hinnehmbar. Am Eingang des Restaurants hing ein Schild, dass aufgrund des Problems mit der Warmwasserversorgung das gebuchte warme Frühstück nicht zur Verfügung gestellt werden könnte. Dies war für uns überhaupt nicht nachvollziehbar, benötigt man zum Kochen und Braten lediglich Strom aber kein warmes Wasser. Es stand somit nur das sehr überschaubare Continental Breakfast bereit. Selbst eine Reklamation an der Rezeption war nicht möglich, da diese erneut nicht besetzt war. Das für diese bezahlte aber nicht erbrachte Leistung bis heute keine Rückerstattung erfolgt ist, setzt unserem ganzen Aufenthalt dann die Krone auf. Wenn eine Leistung nicht erbracht werden kann, dann muss es eigentlich eine Selbstverständlichkeit, diese auch nicht zu berechnen und unaufgefordert zurückzuerstatten! Fazit: Ein relativ neues Hotel alleine genügt einfach nicht für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Ein guter Service ist ebenso wichtig.
