Dirty bath and sink Dirty general areas inside and out Breakfast awful - no clean cutlery, plates or bowls Hot food was actually cold. The hot food trays were never full, and you would wait 10 minutes to get beans or bacon No towels in room No toilet roll in room No toilet roll or hand soap in public toilets Air conditioning poor, and switches off in the night. TV kept turning on during the night The staff, are lovely. But working on skeleton staff meaning your waiting 15 minutes to just get a diet coke from the bar

Never more Abbiamo soggiornato 3 notti in questo albergo a Inverness e, purtroppo, l’esperienza è stata a dir poco imbarazzante.

I cannot begin to tell you how awful this place is, nor how much you need to avoid it at all costs. Was booked in by my tour company. On arrival the first impression was one of a dilapidated old building that had maybe been abandoned. But no. Apparently it’s a fully functional hotel with 315 rooms. Well, I say fully functional………… Tried to check in. One person at the desk. Several ‘self check in’ terminals, none of which were working. She retrieved my booking, but couldn’t find the email authorising payment. After several phone calls I was allowed to enter my room. I now wish I had been denied. Opened my curtains to find a full building site outside my window. Tired from a long day driving, I couldn’t even get forty winks. Listened to the incessant noise of a group of workers doing and saying what building workers do. There was a gossamer thin towel to scrape off the water after a shower. Not even a plastic glass to rinse after teeth cleaning. It must feel like this on your first night in prison. Luckily I wasn’t sharing. Morning came. Went for breakfast. Chef had abandoned ship and I was told by a disinterested guy that it would be a continental breakfast. No it wasn’t. No cheese, no meats, no eggs, nor anything else you would expect from a continental breakfast. There was tea, coffee, bread, some extra long life so called pastries ( you know the ones) and a few pieces of fruit. I had to go out for breakfast and ask for that part of my booking to be refunded. Also, the dining room was filthy. The first time I’ve had to wash my hands after I’d sat at a table. The one adjacent to me was equally dirty, although it had apparently been cleared. On return to my room that evening, nothing had changed. Nobody had tidied or replaced towels. I assumed it was because I was a little late going out in the morning, but no, it happened again the next day. I enquired why? I was told you have to request a room tidy. No previous warning. Again I was told there were signs in the lift. I was on the ground floor. The public areas were filthy. The entrance was disgusting. The carpets were sticky and stained. The walls looked like they hadn’t been cleaned, much less painted in a decade. There was a strong smell of what I can only guess was decaying debris and badly maintained vents. There was one member of staff on duty at any time. For a 315 bedroom hotel. The lady and gentleman I dealt with were as pleasant as they could be, given the obvious stress they were under. Their employers should be ashamed. They themselves should be commended for their resilience. It wasn’t cheap either. Almost £200 per night for what essentially, was a hostel. A homeless hostel would have been cleaner. The only positive thing about this experience was, I’ll never have it again. There are proper local accommodation providers out there who will provide you with some proper hospitality. This place is truly a definition of the race to the bottom. Avoid.
