I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received at Premier Inn Watford Central, particularly from a member of staff named Omar. What should have been a straightforward and relaxing stay was completely overshadowed by his attitude and behaviour. Earlier in the evening, we were actually served by a fantastic member of staff named Lexi, who was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, she even warned us that the night shift staff were known to be difficult, which sadly turned out to be completely accurate. From the moment we approached the bar later on, Omar came across as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. Instead of treating guests with basic courtesy and professionalism, his tone was insulting and made us feel unwelcome. Hospitality staff are supposed to create a comfortable environment for paying customers, but this experience was the exact opposite. The most frustrating part was that the bar was closed before the advertised closing time. There was no polite explanation or apology — just abrupt behaviour and an attitude that suggested customers were an inconvenience. If a venue advertises certain operating hours, guests should be able to rely on them. Closing early without proper communication is unprofessional enough, but combining that with poor customer service made the situation even worse. What stood out most was the contrast between Lexi’s excellent customer service earlier in the evening and the behaviour we experienced later on. One member of staff made us feel welcome and valued as guests, while the other completely ruined the atmosphere with unnecessary hostility and poor attitude. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience genuinely left a bad impression. Management should seriously look into how guests are being treated during the night shift and ensure staff understand the importance of professionalism, communication, and basic manners.

Just on the outskirts of Watford city centre, but a 20 minute walk to Watford football ground.

The location is very handy for the town centre and local parks. Rooms are always clean and staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative is you have to pay for parking, you do get a discount if you let them know that you parked when you book in.

My family and I were visiting the Harry Potter Studios and chose to stay at Watford Central Premier Inn as we have stayed there in the past and whenever we do go on short breaks we always do stay at Premier Inn’s however, after this time we will not be booking again or recommending them to anyone. On the first night the guests next door to us were being extremely loud and after listening to the noise for over an hour I went down to the reception to see if they could possibly ask them to be a bit quieter as we were trying to sleep and also had our 6 year old daughter with us who was struggling to sleep. On the second night the guests directly above our room (we were in 103) were jumping and banging on the floor. This was very late so I called the reception at 23:02pm and asked if they could possibly ask the guests to stop & they said they would send someone up. I then called again at 23:23pm as the noise was continuing to get worse and we were all struggling to sleep, about 5 minutes later someone came to our room and said they had been up and given the guests a final warning as they heard the noise before they even got up to the floor they were on and it was loud. This went on and off again until I called again at 04:15am. The member of staff I spoke to this time told me I would just need to deal with it until morning and then they would see if they could move us rooms, I explained that my daughter was now awake with us as the noise was bad again, I also explained that I had recordings of the noise also. The member of staff then told me there was no noise essentially calling me a liar and telling me that there was nothing they could do. I then explained that we always stay at Premier Inns because of the good sleep guarantee and he told me again that there was no noise and they would move us in the morning. We were so extremely tired and upset at this point. The noise finally stopped at 5:40am. I have complained to Premier Inn and provided evidence of the noise but their reply was “we spoke to staff at the hotel and they have said there was no noise so your complaint is closed.” I have now escalated my complaint. Please avoid this hotel if you would like a good nights sleep.
