Room located opposite night club which disturbed sleep until 4 am. Very noisy guests running in corridor after 11pm. Newly refurbished room but heating control didn’t work and bath taps not working properly. Definitely smell of stale cigarette smoke in room. Satisfactory stay on previous occasions.

Absolutely awful night’s sleep at Premier Inn St Albans City Centre. Room was directly opposite a nightclub and from midnight onwards all we could hear was loud music, heavy bass, screaming and shouting outside until the early hours. Premier Inn refused a refund because apparently guests are expected to get out of bed in the middle of the night, get dressed and report it to reception, pack your belongings in order to move room for a “Good Night Guarantee” to apply. City centre hotel or not, being unable to sleep at all is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience and customer service.

Stayed at Premier Inn St Albans City Centre recently and unfortunately my room did not meet expected cleanliness standards. When I checked in, there were visible stains on the bedding which should have been noticed before the room was prepared for guests. Staff did replace the bedding after I reported it, and l appreciate that they responded quickly. However, the experience affected my comfort and confidence in the room's cleanliness, especially after a long journey. l've usually had reliable experiences with Premier Inn, which made this stay particularly disappointing. I hope housekeeping checks are improved going forward.

Stayed here with a team from work, Rooms are not bad. one of our group turned up a day late to check in( date mix up on our end) and even though the room was booked for the whole week, they gave it away to someone else. The members of staff- especially the older female, mentioned in quite a few reviews already, were appalling. She was very rude, blunt and wouldn't listen to us when we tried asking for things at the bar. The first night- there was a hair found in our food, second night another hair, third night cold food and missing items and the forth day 4 of us came down with food poisoning. we tried to cancel our meal deal dinner that had already been paid for as we didn't want to go through it again, to be told we had to wait for another manager to come in due to them not knowing how to cancel it. We then stopped at the bar before going elsewhere for dinner and the lady decided to have ago at one of the members of the group for cancelling the meal claiming that there was nothing wrong and that she did everything to look after us. Also their lifts kept switching between working and not working, so it was a massive accessibility issue. AVOID this place like the plague! staff need some serious work and a hell of a lot more training. you'd be better off eating and staying literally anywhere else!

First and last stay with Premier Inn. I booked expecting the usual “great night’s sleep” they advertise, but instead walked into a room with blood-stained sheets. Not slightly marked — clearly visible and completely unacceptable. Yes, the staff replaced the bedding after I complained, but that’s not the point. This should never have passed basic cleaning checks in the first place. After a long journey, it was honestly pretty disturbing and completely ruined any sense of comfort. What’s worse is the response afterward: an apology, but no accountability and no compensation. Apparently, as long as they fix it after you complain, it’s fine. For a brand that markets itself on comfort and cleanliness, this was a major letdown. I won’t be staying again.
