Nice clean premier but not in the centre.

Scruffy and dingy car park and entrance made hotel feel a bit seedy and unwelcoming. Room needs a revamp - broken furniture, significant damp issues in bathroom and old/worn looking carpet. Bed was however comfortable and TV and kettle worked. I wouldn't book this hotel again. I stay in a lot of premier inns and was the worst one I've stayed in.

Great Stay with Fantastic Service We had a really pleasant stay here, largely thanks to the incredible staff. Barry and Tracy and all the other staff truly went the extra mile to make us feel welcome; they were exceptionally friendly and made our mornings. The Food & Room The breakfast was really lovely with a stacked up plate! Definitely a highlight of the stay and a great way to start the day. As for the room, it was perfectly "okay" and met our needs. The only very minor issue was some scuff marks on the headboard which I didn't expect in a premium room but it didn't impact our comfort at all. We also were given brand new pillows that were nice and comfortable. Location & Access A quick heads-up on the location: The Moors: Looking at the map, it appeared like there would be direct access to the moors right from the hotel. However, there isn’t a cut-through, so you have to head about 10 minutes down the road to find the actual entrance. Transport: It is also a bit of a walk to the nearest station, so keep that in mind if you are arriving by train or planning to use the rails for day trips. Overall, a solid stay with standout service. We would definitely return for the hospitality alone!

Checked in and all was fine. Went out to see friends and returned to the hotel just after midnight. Went to use the 'night entrance' but my card didn't work on the door. Noone answered the reception button and when I called the phone number on line a recorded message told me too call back during opening hours. Had a cleaner not been passing the door, I would have been forced to find alternative emergency accommodation.

Liam needs to be applauded for being the only member of staff who knows how to have a friendly conversation. Very affable. However, the person on breakfast needs to learn to smile and be welcoming. We were perhaps mistakenly told we could have an early breakfast on the weekend, which we did. You'd swear we were trying to rob the place when she stamped towards us demanding why wasn't she told we'd be there. She then proceeded to be friendly to other guests...Breakfast was lovely however and rooms were clean.
