bit of a nightmare driving here coming from the country, but thank god it's kinda on the edge of the city center and no further. the staff were all great(especially CHARLENE. CHARLENE is the best. cool piercings too, give her a pay raise you guys, she needs more.) all in all I've got one more night here and it's gonna be great provided the food I'm currently waiting for isn't spilled by CHARLENE.

The hotel was nice and clean, staff were helpful but the rooms were so uncomfortably hot. They had included 3 fans in the room but the temperature those days, paired with the window restriction meant there was no cooling the room down which did impact our sleep. This must be common feedback as there was a note about it in the room. I have stayed in rooms with no air con previously but the room temp must have steadily been mid 30s. If I was to return it wouldn't be in the summer due to this reason.

Legit 1 star overall.
Insanely hot. It was chill night outside but inside like 35 degrees. No AC (only in the lobby for people that matter), generously provided very dusty fans only carry hot air around the dusty room.
The window opens by an inch because is restricted. One of the restricting hinges is missing - someone already tried to escape this hell.
Dirty floors - like disgustingly dirty: with spots and soles get black in minutes.
Rather loud railway just beneath.
Small and expensive parking.
Staff does everything it can which is exactly nothing but being polite.
Ok for 20 quid or if council pays for you which I suspect may be the case for some guests. Otherwise hard skip.
You know, skip this city overall, it is utterly unremarkable with rude southern people and bad traffic.

We stayed one night before a cruise.
The staff at check-in and at the bars were excellent, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.
The downside is the hotel itself. There has been air-conditioning at some point as the vents testify however it is only on in the reception and bar/ dining room. On the hottest night ,35°, the rooms were unbearably stifling, the corridor and lift worse. We were supplied with 2 good quality fans that only wafted hot air around the room.
The rooms are slightly shabby, marks on the walls.
There is no vent in the bathroom.
As a couple there was one bath and one hand towel.
The bed however as expected was very comfortable.

Stayed over for a night to board a cruise the next day it was really hot due to the heatwave and the staff were lovely and polite the location is fair since its not long to get to the port but my main issue is how hot it is and I got given 3 fans for a family room and they all were blowing hot air around the room I couldnt sleep at all and the air conditioning wasnt working they said it was broken and the last time I came down here last year it was also broken then so please do fix it if you dont I dont advise you sleeping here during the summer its more of a winter type of hotel not a summer type
There was a combination of what sounded like someone trying to open the door or someone knocking on the door during the night around 11pm I was scared to be honest because I cant defend myself with anything around me
The railway is to loud but just put a notice of the railway and the fans are making a really high pitched ringing noise that is disturbing I dont feel safe sleeping here anymore I dont think other people would either.
