Good hotel, rooms were comfortable and sofa bed also had good reports from 17yr old. It had aircon/heating to sultry the right temperature and room was lovely and quiet.

Typical Express by holiday in clean and functional. Staff polite and helpful. Basic breakfast suits fine for a quick away for business. Disappointed had to pay for parking as I can imagine to many turn up without a car feels like an unnecessary complication.

As an IHG Gold Elite member, we usually stay at Voco hotels (Fareham is our favourite), but when we wanted to extend our stay and they were full we booked this hotel instead. Whilst not expecting the finish of Voco hotels, and appreciating where Holiday Inns sit in the IHG range, this hotel really needs new carpets in the rooms at the very least, as they're old and stained. It would then be so much better. It would also be good if the bathrooms weren't cleaned with bleach, as a smell of bleach hits you when you first enter the room, which reminds you of public toilets. The beds however are very comfortable. The staff, especially restaurant staff at breakfast, are really lovely and very friendly. The breakfast itself, whilst basic and not premium ingredients, is pretty good.

Excellent location with friendly staff. Room carpet badly stained. Food was poor. Cheesey Garlic Bread was soft bread covered with cheese. Gammon was undercooked and tasted burnt. Like it had been seared and not cooked properly. Scampi was OK. Tartare sauce had thick skin on surface. Service was exceptionally quick but food was disappointing. Reception staff very friendly and efficient.

Unfortunately I did not had an opportunity to stay in this hotel due to the September 8th 2026 UK Air Traffic control system malfunction that caused thousands Of flights cancellation. Our flight from Budapest transit Amsterdam to SOU is no exception. Thus as soon as I know that our flight was cancelled , I notified the hotel in email . The responses that I received from various departments from sales , reservations, front desk and finally the Hotel General Manager Chelcei Kay-Pickup had been nothing more then unpleasantness’s IHG Holiday Inn Express took advantage of a National UK Air Traffic Control Crisis to charge their customers for no show , when this was not their intention, more so vulnerable seniors traveling on a budget. I was very perturbed , disturb, disgust , upset with the tone of the response coming from such an established hospitality industry leader . See the attached response image with the ‘careless attitude’ from IHG And how they turn this National Crisis for their own benefits without empathy, sympathy for their clients , more so seniors traveling on budget , it’s a real shame from a hospitality leader
