I came here on a business trip for my music gigs across the south coast, the hotel is immaculate especially for the value and you cant expect much with an express hotel but it was genuienly outstanding. The service was also great, my husky (bubba), was well welcomed in the hotel and treated by the lovely employee Jake, who went out of the way for both of our demands 😅.
Bubba was even allowed in the hotel restaurant which was also great. The buffet is also complimentary and is great value within the price.
The hotel rooms accommodated us well and i was very pleased by the cleanliness of it. The receptionist was great, I think her name was Eileen.
Overall my stay at the holiday inn express was great and will be my go to choice from now on.
Yeah so . . Not amazing tbh. Black mould in the shower. Room was dated. Locking chain on the door was broken. Ants on my table and other tables in the "restaurant" so basically not great. Air conditioning also made a noise but didn't do much tbf.
Staff were nice enough and food was ok (not going to win awards but editable and hot).
The final unhappy note was that despite paying for a room in the hotel they then charge you more to park in the car park. I can understand charging others who are not staying in the hotel but those who have paid money to stay in the hotel then need to also pay more to park! It is a bit excessive when the hotel itself isn't great.
We're in the area visiting family and can't here during a heat wave because it said they had ac. Technically they do but it is not could at all. We complained and multiple times they said they'd turn it down but it didn't get any cooler. Also the food in the restaurant is criminally bad.

If you are unfortunate enough to have this hotel booked, cancel it. Sleep under a bridge - you'll have a better experience.
From rude reception staff, to a room so small you couldn't swing an ant, followed by mouldy food served in the restaurant it has been the worst hotel experience we've had.
We didn't have enough towels in our room (which was rectified when raised, but there was no apology for the inconvenience), no teabags or milk either.
Our experience with the Guest Service Manager was so bad that we are actually going to put in a formal complaint.
The overall hygiene level in the hotel and restaurant is questionable, and the children's area is just depressing.

Where to start... For a family room it was tiny. It serves a purpose but having room to get dressed and move the suitcases around feels like a luxury at this point.
We had a shirty response from the moment we entered and queried the cost to park (£7 at time of writing).
I assume the parking is a sore spot for the staff (hence the attitude) but it wasn't something we had seen posted when paying for the stay.
I'm not sure I'd ever come back unless it was to pickup something I'd forgetton when leaving...
