  Stayed here for one night as a stop over on our way from Newcastle to Southampton. Can't fault anything about the hotel. Excellent location staff were very friendly and the hotel was spotless. Bed was really comfortable and the shower was great. Would definitely recommend

  This is our go-to hotel for my team, we've taken rooms and booked the conference room on a number of ocassions. Great location with plenty of excellent dining options nearby and 5 mins from the station by car. The staff and management are always helpful and on hand to give you a good stay.

  Check in was very quick and easy, even though we got to the hotel very late. FABFL checked us in and explained everything and was great. We had a 2 single bed twin room and it was lovely. Very clean and comfortable, the bed was exceptionally comfy and room temperature perfect. It’s also great that you get different firmness of pillows to suit. The bathroom Was spotless and shower fabulous. I love that you have toiletries in refillable bottles and they are a quality brand, so much better than teeny individual packets and bottles. Moving on to breakfast, it was very nice. The hot food was hot and plentiful and the selection of drinks and cold food was very good. Much better than I had expected. The thing overall that stands out is the staff. They were all so friendly and accommodating and could not do enough to help people. They were always smiling and happy to help. A big well done for outstanding customer service goes to JAWED who was a delight and absolute treasure. Thank you all. We have a second night tonight and I’m already looking forward to it. I haven’t stayed in a Holiday Inn before as I usually choose Premier Inn but I will definitely be choosing Holiday Inn in the future.

  Superb. Slightly more cramped rooms than some other hotels but comfortable beds and aircon which WORKS even during this June's heatwave. A special mention to the staff who all, without exception, whether on the front line or not, were friendly and courteous, and went out of their way to be as helpful as possible at all times. Along with a fresh buffet breakfast which hasn't been stewing for hours. This place seems extremely well run to me. Also noteworthy is their 10%-20% discount scheme for local restaurants, which was mentioned on the IHG website but offered without prompting at checkin. It brings the effective cost of staing at this hotel down by at least £10, as does the free breakfast.
