  Stayed here for a couple of nights as it was a good location to get to various different places of interest in the area. Room was a nice size and clean. In fact the whole place was clean and well presented. On arrival we were greeted in a nice, friendly manner and all of the staff we encountered, either in the reception, restaurant or sports centre etc were very friendly and pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast twice and an evening meal once and all was nice, with good portion sizes and the staff were really helpful. In the sports centre there is a gym and a pool which was nice and it is advised to book a slot to use, although when it is quiet you don't have to worry. It was so easy to pop in or call from the room to do it; it wasn't a problem to book anyway. If I was to offer anything negative, in the interests of being balanced; I would say that the air conditioning in my room wasn't very good, it was cold but the fan speed went from non-existent to a faint flow of air movement. It was not enough for a complaint, although in the height of summer it would have been. I was a little disappointed that we had to pay to park too. I do understand why in this case though. The hotel is close to Southampton Docks and so some customers stay for a night and leave their vehicles for a longer period, in which case a charge seems valid. As someone who was only parking while I stayed in the hotel, however, it could be argued that parking should not be an extra (it's never been one in the other Holiday Inn hotels I have used). I would happily stay here again. The staff were all so helpful and I know it sounds cheesy; but they were a credit to the hotel in my opinion. Thank you.

  I was here on a speed awareness course ! But used the hotel restaurant & all seemed fine , an odd observation but toilets were amazingly clean & smelt fresh

  I had been staying at this hotel for around 3 months (4 day a week) for work reason but I have to say the staff at this hotel are exceptional from the receptionist, to the bar staff, always feel good to stay at this hotel.

  We just stayed a night before a holiday and was not expecting too much. The rooms were really modern, lovely bathroom with bath, not just a shower.. However the gym was the best hotel gym id ever experienced. Bikes were super hitec, as were running machines, huge range of freeweights and machines, all new too (apprently a recent refit the guy at reception explained) , squat cage, smith machine. Olympic bench, dumbells above 30kg... And a pool and sauba / jaccusi (didnt use it so dont know which. What a great start to a holisay

  I would like to compliment the chef this morning 18th September for the excellent breakfast. In particular the poached eggs, bacon and sausages. Would highly recommend the breakfast to everyone. Thanks so much
