  Have not had the need to stay here but we do use there conference facilities for our Committee meetings. It has certainly improved recently with helpful staff and with well equipped rooms. It is also very good value.

  My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and, in my view, a poor reflection of the Holiday Inn brand. First impressions count, and unfortunately mine couldn't have been much worse. When I arrived, there was no one at reception. After waiting several minutes, I eventually had to walk around the hotel searching for a member of staff to check me in, which is simply unacceptable. The communal areas, particularly the bar, are modern and well presented. However, this contrasts sharply with the rest of the property. The hallways, corridors, doors and many of the room features are tired, worn and in desperate need of attention. Frankly, they could benefit from more than just a refurbishment, even a fresh coat of paint would make a noticeable difference. My night's sleep was reasonably comfortable, although it was regularly disturbed by the loud banging of doors throughout the evening and early morning. The final straw, however, has been the complete lack of follow-up service. I have now requested a copy of my invoice four separate times, once at checkout and three times by email, and I still have not received it. This is a basic administrative task that should be handled promptly and professionally. Overall, the lack of customer service and attention to detail significantly outweighed any positives. I would not stay here again based on this experience.

  Room was recently decorated, nice and clean, quiet and comfortable. The restaurant has just introduced a brand new Indian menu in addition to the standard hotel food. The Indian food was really good. Restaurant quality, decent prices and adjusted according to taste. Not the usual bland curries you often get in hotel restaurants. The chef even came out to ask what we thought. Definitely recommended. Breakfast was fairly limited in choice but was fine. Overall good value amd would stay again if passing though Basingstoke.

  highly disappointed, me and a friend booked two single bed room as a base just to sleep in for an event we had, as a member i requested late check out which we got given 1pm, got to the room and its very much back dated and old, compared to all the other holiday inns we have stayed in which have all been renovated this one has most definitely seen better days, bare in mind we booked for two people but only one towel given to us luckily we bring our own anyway, we got back to the hotel about 3am and not even 4 hours later at 7 in the morning house keeping it going around slamming doors and talking well might aswell have been shouting down the corridors at each other, for us to then have house keeping come into our room at 10am which bare in mind standard check out time is 11am as it is and we have 1pm check out after this we was both awake running on 4 hours sleep with a very long drive home, i’ve never ever had an issue with the holiday inns but this was the worst experience ive had by far, house keeping shouldn’t be going into rooms until A reception has let them know a room is now vacant or B when it’s actually check out time, they should also have a list of what rooms have late check out to avoid knocking on rooms that don’t have an 11am check out we got late check out for a reason not to be woken up at 7 in the morning to staff sounding like a heard of elephants in the corridors definitely will not be staying here again
