We had an awful experience here. When we arrived the female receptionist was at best abrupt at worst just rude. Does she not realise that without guests she would not have a role. We were treated as though we were an hindrance to her. Some customer training clearly needed. The room itself was very tired but our main problem was the lack of air conditioning. Granted it was one of the hottest evenings in the year but the room was airless despite having the windows open. We were given a very old fan which was useless and only served to be noisy and agitated the dust in the room. I am asthmatic and found it difficult to breathe. We did moot leaving the hotel at 3 in the morning. We were looking forward to our stay in Tewksbury but were extremely disappointed. The young man on reception at our checkout was lovely and listened to our complaints sympathetically. Premier Inn? Inferior Inn. We use Premier Inns regularly but our experience has undermined our confidence in providing a reasonably priced comfortable room for the night.

This hotel is far from the standard I would expect from Premier Plus. There is no air conditioning.
The restaurant experience was even worse. Nobody comes to you or checks on you, so I had to wait around 20 minutes just to place an order. After that, I waited another hour for the food to arrive. Unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait. We ordered Caesar Salad, Stacked Burger and other plates. Everything was disappointing. The ingredients felt cheap and of poor quality, some of the food seemed overheated, and overall it was nowhere near the standard I would expect.

We had very nice stay here for 2 nights. The room was clean and bed super comfortable. At time of stay the temperature outside was high 20s, we could see how if above 30 degrees rooms would be unbearable but ours was ok with a fan. Plenty of parking and road noise wasn't too bad.

Just seen rats , and did a bit of investigation and found rat holes coming from under the foundations all round the main buildings, spoke to the duty manager and he seemed oblivious to the situation, then spoke to staff and it was then I knew , they knew about the problem and told me they would record and get pest control, to me this is and has been an ongoing issue with the premier inn... my worry is ive booked in with meals... maybe I will speak to my company and relocate

I would think very carefully before staying at this Premier Inn if you are travelling by car.
The hotel uses a third-party parking company, Horizon Parking, which operates an ANPR camera system. Guests are expected to register their vehicle inside the hotel, but if, for any reason, your registration is not recorded, you can receive a parking charge despite being a genuine paying customer.
On the day I travelled (late May 2026), we were in the first UK heatwave and temperatures were in the 30s. I was hot and tired and during check-in, I omitted to add the car registration, the check-in staff of this non air-conditioned hotel were tired (and understandably a little grumpy) and they didn't spot it either.
I appealed my charge, explaining the above context and that I believed I had parked lawfully, but the appeal was rejected because Horizon's system showed no record of my registration. I was then faced with a choice: pay £15 within 14 days or risk losing the discount and having to pay the full charge if I took the case to the independent appeals service (POPLA). That left me feeling pressured into paying rather than pursuing what I believed was a legitimate appeal.
My frustration is not with the hotel staff but with a parking policy that leaves genuine guests feeling penalised and with very little practical opportunity to challenge a charge without significant financial risk. Premier Inn should reconsider whether this predatory "letter of the law, spirit of a miser" approach is the experience they want their guests to have. It has left me thoroughly disgusted with a very dim view of all the parties concerned
If you stay here, make absolutely sure you register your vehicle correctly and keep evidence that you have done so.
