Useful stop not far from M5. Very ordinary, nothing ‘premier’. Carpet in room none too clean, window with restricted opening yet no air con. Bed quite comfy. Breakfast in next door chain pub not great.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time, but unfortunately, this visit was a much poorer experience than our first. The biggest issue was the lack of ventilation in the room. This was not simply a matter of there being no air conditioning — there was very little airflow, and after taking a shower, the room became extremely humid. Although there was a small fan in the room, mould had visibly developed around the fan area, which looked very unpleasant and unhygienic. The room was also extremely hot, even in September, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. The bathroom also appears to need more frequent maintenance. The waterproofing/grouting around the bathroom has deteriorated and appears to need re-grouting. Overall, the room feels dated and would benefit from modernisation and more regular maintenance. We were also disappointed to find that the restaurant has been sold, meaning the complimentary children’s Premier Inn breakfast that we had previously enjoyed is no longer available. For EV owners, the on-site GeniePoint charger was another inconvenience. It took some time to complete the registration process before we could start charging. There is also a strict policy of charging an additional fee if the vehicle is not moved promptly once charging has finished, so this needs to be carefully monitored. Overall, given that this was our second stay, we were particularly disappointed by the decline in the experience. The hotel clearly needs better ventilation, more regular maintenance and some modernisation to bring the rooms up to a more comfortable standard.

⭐ 1 star Our stay at Premier Inn Gloucester (Little Witcombe) was extremely disappointing. Hotel staff acknowledged significant disruption and advised us to check out early. Other guests were refunded immediately, yet my own complaint was closed without escalation and no refund has been issued. I contacted Guest Relations, Customer Relations, and the Whitbread CEO Office. None of these departments responded, even after I sent a formal Letter Before Action. Premier Inn then posted a public reply on my review directing me back to Guest Relations, despite that route already being exhausted. This response was misleading and did not reflect the facts. Whitbread has also failed to provide any method to refund the outstanding £132.50, despite the original payment card (from 2023) being closed. A trader cannot refuse a refund simply because the original card is inactive. Due to Premier Inn’s refusal to engage with any part of their own complaints process, I have had to escalate the matter externally through Citizens Advice (Trading Standards gateway), Resolver, and my card provider. This should never be necessary for a straightforward refund after a disrupted stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff spoke to them prior to booking and they were very helpful. Room as usual was cleaned to a high standard. Plenty of parking, note need to register the reg via the tablet in reception, unsure why it's needed as not close to other buildings that would use it. Enough disabled parking bays. There was some intensive building rework being done during our stay. September 26, but it had no impact on our stay apart from walking on plastic protecting the carpet in a small area that was taken up every late afternoon. No noise or issues, spaces kept free for customers and work vans parked well away. Note the pub normally linked to the hotel is now a separate company, they do offer breakfast and other meals. We did not try the breakfast so can't comment on that. We did try the Toby carvery for breakfast a short drive away the offer buffet Breakfast etc. there is also a petrol station a short distance from the hotel as well as a well stocked corner shop and a subway outlet. We used all and were Happy. The location is ideal to base yourself for the local region, can get to Cheltenham racecourse for racing or steam train under 30 mins and to the cathedral in 15 mins. Close to main routes though note at the time of this review there was a major road infrastructure change widening of carriage way etc on one of the closer link roads, traffic is slow but always moving as we used it a fes times. Quick drive to the REME museum and and steam Museum in Swindon so a good place to be based from. Hotel was quiet and not notice and noise
