  Rooms were tired. Handle on window very loose and not working great hit or miss if you could open it which isn't great in the event of a fire. Bathroom smelled very sour maybe the drains or the shower curtain hard to say. Air con worked for a moment then would cut out. Breakfast was nice.

  This review is for The Social restaurant in the Premier Inn Glasgow City Centre (George Square) hotel. The room has been reviewed separately. Our experience at The Social restaurant was absolutely terrible, from the service to the food. The service was rude from the moment we were seated. When we asked questions about the menu, we received one-word answers and eye rolls, making us feel as though we were an inconvenience. I tried to order a mixed drink and asked about diet mixer options, not realizing that “slimline” is the term commonly used in the UK. The lack of hospitality was completely unnecessary. In the end, I had to order a shot and a Coke separately and ask for a glass of ice because ordering a simple mixed drink seemed to be too much trouble. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing. It tasted as though it had been microwaved for far too long and was overcooked. My chicken was inedible, and my friend's prawns were so rubbery that they were equally unpleasant to eat. Our server never checked on us or offered to refill our drinks or water. When she eventually cleared our plates, she noticed that most of the food was left and asked if everything was all right. When we said no, she showed no interest in finding out what was wrong, simply dropped the bill and walked away. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant. The food was overpriced and extremely poor quality, and the service made an already disappointing meal even worse. Premier Inn should be embarrassed to have a restaurant offering this level of food and customer service.

  My wife and I have just returned from a short stay here. Everything was fine and the hotel is close enough (5 minute walk) from Glasgow Queen's Street Station One star lost .. The hotel is referred to as 'City Centre(George Square) but it is NOT on George Square, although it is quite close .. it is actually situated on the corner of George Street and Montrose Street

  Gone to hell. The rooms are quiet but filthy. Room cleaning is by request and they literally make the beds and replace the towels. Service is awful. In particular a very rude duty manager called Yasmin who frankly is not fit for her role. The place was always understaffed, dirty and horrid. 4 nights and the coffee cup holder and broken glass never left the stairway. After 25 years of using the place, we will not return.

  Avoid at all costs!! Extremely disappointing experience. We ended up stranded in Glasgow late at night and went to this Premier Inn hoping for some basic help or somewhere to get ourselves sorted. We were told there were no rooms available, which is fair enough, but the attitude of the night shift member of staff was absolutely appalling. What really shocked us was that we weren’t even allowed to use the toilet. We were given some explanation about a supposed late-night licensing rule, which seemed incredibly questionable and was certainly not explained in any reasonable or helpful way. We were already in a stressful situation and simply needed a bit of basic human decency. Instead, we were treated like an inconvenience and spoken to with a completely unnecessary level of hostility. I understand that hotels have security procedures and may not have rooms available, but there is absolutely no excuse for treating people who are clearly stranded and asking for basic assistance with such a lack of compassion. The attitude of the night staff was disgraceful and completely put me off ever staying at this particular Premier Inn. Premier Inn should seriously look at how customers and members of the public are treated by staff during night shifts. Following policy is one thing; being unnecessarily rude and unhelpful is another.
