  The room was great, I struggled to find staff on duty. We stopped for one night on the way to the Highlands so were not expecting anything more than the hotel on a retail estate.

  We stayed in the here and had dinner in the restaurant, the staff working Jasmine, Kevin and Donya were so friendly and always smiling. Although they were very busy they were very helpful.

  We stayed at this Premier Inn very recently for two nights during the Commonwealth Games. Overall, the hotel was fine, but unfortunately our stay was badly affected by noise from the room above. We were staying in family room number 9, and the guests above us were moving around to such an extent that the cups on our bedside tables were actually vibrating on the tables. As a result, we had a very poor night’s sleep, which was particularly disappointing as we had a very long journey home the following day. It really spoiled what otherwise would have been a perfectly nice stay. It does make me wonder whether the build quality and sound insulation at this particular hotel are adequate. There may not be a great deal the hotel can do about noisy guests, but if getting a good night’s sleep is important to you, it’s something worth being aware of in case you encounter a similar issue. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anyone available at reception when we left for us to report the problem, so we simply left our key card in the designated place. On the plus side, the breakfast, which we paid extra for, was very nice, and we were able to find a comfortable area to sit. It certainly set us up well for our day at the Commonwealth Games. Overall, an otherwise pleasant stay that was unfortunately let down by very poor sound insulation and a disturbed night’s sleep.
