The hotel itself is okay. The location is not great – there are a lot of homeless people, visible drug use, and some rather questionable bars in the area (a typical train station district).
The staff at check-in were excellent and very friendly. We really appreciated that. The room initially seemed fine and, most importantly, it was clean.
Unfortunately, the refrigerator was not working. We reported this to reception and were told it would be replaced the next day, which sounded fine to us. However, that never happened. The staff member on the following day first seemed unaware of the issue and then told us that someone had already been upstairs to look at it. We could not see any evidence of that, as the refrigerator was still not working.
At check-out, we were asked whether everything had been okay (by the same staff member). We replied that it had not, because the refrigerator had never been fixed. She then asked why we had not reported the problem. At that point, we had to laugh. That response was quite cheeky, considering we had already reported it and followed up. No effort was made to compensate us or otherwise address the inconvenience.
The bigger disappointment, however, was the breakfast buffet. I am not referring to the hot food, which was acceptable (although the “Full Scottish Breakfast” was not exactly “full”). The lady responsible for seating guests was unfortunately one of the most unmotivated and unfriendly people we encountered during several weeks in Scotland. Perhaps she was simply having two bad days.
I have attached photos of the buffet so everyone can decide for themselves whether it is worth £18.50 per person or whether that price is unreasonable.

The room was spacious enough and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower fantastic. You could hear the occupant next door walking as the floor creaked. Breakfast was a real disappointment: no cooked items on that morning, and the continental offerings were equally limited.

This review is truly a 5-star because of Alexandra. During our stay, the chef either got sick or quit after the first day, and unfortunately breakfast became very disorganized. The first morning there was no hot breakfast at all, and on the second and third mornings the wait for food was extremely long. You could tell someone was trying their best, but overall the experience just wasn’t what it should have been.
The reason we kept coming back was Alexandra. She was incredibly kind, pleasant, and professional throughout the whole situation. Even while dealing with frustrated guests, she stayed calm, kept apologizing for the delays, and genuinely did everything she could to make the experience better for everyone. Her attitude and customer service completely changed the atmosphere for us.
A huge thank you to Alexandra for her patience and kindness. For her sake, I truly hope the restaurant is able to resolve its chef/staffing issues soon because employees like her are hard to find.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Hotel Indigo Glasgow in the city centre during our family trip to Scotland. From the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of!
A huge thank you to Erin, Calvin and Leo G at the front desk… they were incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional throughout our stay. Their customer service truly made a difference and helped make our trip so enjoyable! But honestly, I feel so bad for not getting the names of some of the other team members we interacted with because everyone was really great.
The hotel itself is immaculate. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully maintained. We had three rooms booked, and the staff thoughtfully placed all of us together, even giving us connecting rooms!! That made traveling with family so much easier and more enjoyable.
The bar in the hotel has a really cool atmosphere, and the breakfast buffet each morning was absolutely lovely with great service and quality food. Roughly 14£. Worth it!!
Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve truly had. The staff made us feel genuinely cared for, and we would happily stay here again the next time we’re in Glasgow. Highly recommend!
