Budget hotel on the fringe of city centre. Handy for bus station, and in my case, the passport office. Wasn't inclined to walk out at night . There weren't any attractive pubs in near vicinity. Room rate included breakfast which was vet good.

Nice hotel on a really good location. The rooms are what younwill expect from a Holiday Inn express. The service was great, from the girls at reception to the ones in breakfast. Breakfast was really busy but they still managed to replenish all the buffet, clean everything and help everyone.

This is a great place with free delicious breakfast, clean rooms, and friendly staff. I've stayed here twice and you really can't beat the location and its proximity to the city center and being right next to the bus station is very convenient for booking tours and catching a bus to anywhere in Scotland.
BRUTAL customer service experience from someone named "Michael" (last name and title refused to be provided) left my 85 year old aunt stuck in her room waiting for my brother to meet her for dinner. No internet. No cell phone. Hotel refused to notify her that her guest was waiting, leaving her stranded. This was after a lengthy red eye flight from Canada. Also after the previous front desk staff helped her call me to tell me that she had arrived safely. After she had told them she was travelling alone and was waiting for a guest to arrive!!!
ZERO common sense. Finally relented after we told him our next call would be to 999 as we were concerned about her well being, alone, stuck in her room, waiting on a call that wasn't coming.
Michael also refused to provide me with the contact info of the next level up manager.
Complaint to Holiday Inn corporate incoming. This was a huge health and safety issue.
Michael should be reprimanded.
A decent enough stay although far too expensive for a Holiday Inn Express. One is the water pressure on the shower. Second and most importantly, the bedrooms doors are heavy and there is a constant banging which can be heard all the way down the corridor which means if you want to have a lie-in or an afternoon nap, you can forget about it as you’ll be woken up by the noise. The breakfast I would avoid as well and eat somewhere where there’s better value for money and quality. For issues with noise, sleep quality, and value for money, I would not rate this higher and would be looking elsewhere when visiting.
