Hotel is in general fine. However there is a trap with a parking. There are zero indications that the parking is actually not free. So you take rental car, come back, load your stuff and depart 40 minutes later and it will cost you 100 GBP (60 if you will pay at first 14 days). And i'm not blind, another Holiday Inn at Cambridge has numerous signs that parking isn't free, in this one it was easy to miss, especially if you are there only for load/unload.

Great for an overnight stay before a flight. Check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean, comfortable and exactly what we needed. The transfer to the airport was also straightforward and convenient. Just one thing to be aware of: the airport transfer bus isn’t free — there’s a £4 per person charge each way. Not a major issue, but worth knowing beforehand. Overall, a very easy, hassle-free stay and I’d happily use the hotel again when flying from Stansted.

We had already booked this hotel because we stayed here two years ago and had such a positive experience that we decided to return, particularly because of its convenient location near the airport. Unfortunately, what we witnessed this morning while waiting in reception before heading to the airport completely changed our impression of the hotel. We saw a manager, who appeared to be in her 40s or 50s, shouting at a very young female member of staff who looked no older than 18 or 20. The young woman was visibly distressed and crying, yet the manager continued speaking to her in an extremely aggressive and humiliating manner. We were only around one or two metres away and clearly heard comments including “you are useless”, “go home”, “you don’t know how to do your job”, “you are a totally stupid” and other deeply hurtful and completely unprofessional remarks. We were genuinely shocked and uncomfortable witnessing someone in a position of authority treating a young member of staff in such an inhumane and degrading way. My boyfriend later asked another receptionist, Nicole, for the manager’s name, and we were told that her name was Michelle. Whatever had happened beforehand, there is simply no excuse for a manager to shout at, insult and humiliate an employee in front of guests, particularly while that employee is visibly crying.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. As a guest, I witnessed a situation that I found completely unacceptable. A manager, who I believe was called Michelle, was treating one of her own staff members in an extremely degrading and inhumane way. The employee was visibly distressed, shaking and crying, yet the way she was being treated continued. I find it unbelievable that, in the 21st century, situations like this can still happen in a workplace, and that someone in a position of authority can make a member of staff feel so distressed and humiliated. I strongly believe that what happened should be properly investigated by the hotel. No employee should ever be made to feel intimidated, degraded or pushed to that level of emotional distress by the way their manager speaks to or treats them. This is outrageous and should be reported formally, that abuse of power has been reported in several times from other customers too, and this is continuing from that person. Totally disgraceful, working with nonsense abuse in a hotel. It is a disgrace that something like this could happen and apparently be allowed to continue in a hotel in Holidays Inn at Stansted. When a guest witnesses what appears to be an abuse of power and such degrading treatment of a member of staff, I believe it is important to speak up and report it publicly. We feel sorry for the young lady.
