  Not stayed in a Holiday Inn for a while, this was best value and closest to where I needed to be, so why not Not sure if a one off or how HIE are now but room, spacious, but no details paid to the cleaning, loads of stuff under the bed including a lip gloss, which isn't mine, quite a few long hairs in the shower (I'm a bloke with short hair) The air con/heating not working, although the little light on the control panel kept flashing all night which was annoying, massive gap under the room door which let in light and lots of noise in and outside the hotel The bed itself ... rock hard. The free breakfast, reasonable, dried scrambled egg though, HIE used to do fried eggs which were always a winner so disappointed at this However the positives, the staff, fantastic no complaints there, the location perfect, the shower excellent. Few things really need addressing with the room I had. Would i stay again ? Funny enough I was looking at staying next month as bringing my boy to an event nearby and was thinking about booking again, until I tried the bed, I would stay again but only if working and needed to be close to Braintree, wouldnt pay my own money to stay here.

  Far away from London city but the good transit network in England makes it a suitable hotel even for 5 Day stay

  I visit a lot of hotels around braintree and this is by far my favourite 😍 rooms always high standard and clean. Always cool when you walk in. Super friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is soo much better than a lot of the hotels close by. Became a member for this reason tbh.

  Staff last time I stayed here were lovely. This time not so much, the guy on duty insinuated that I was lying about the bugs after showing him pictures. “We haven’t had bed bugs in a couple of years” was his response. Then proceeded to tell me he doesn’t even know what bed bugs look like. They then moved me to a room that didn’t even lock properly and was filthy. The cleanliness of this hotel is horrific really, cleaning standards are not a thing! Dirty carpets, showers/bathrooms and bed bugs. The hotel is in between a motor way and a dual carriage way so extremely loud at all times. I’ve had an email from the manager today saying he cannot see any bugs… I have bites up my leg and arm. I would never stay here again.
