  We had a nice restful evening here and the breakfast was good in the morning. The staff were also lovely

  Was miss sold a room by IHG and their other company his.Braintree fo so when you ring your bank to block them from taking money use both of these companies names. I’ve been hung up on multiple times, the customer service is one of the poorest I’ve experienced. The manager was arrogant and dismissive of any problem I raised. Most of the call staff were unhelpful. Will not be staying here ever again.

  Stayed here for four nights on business. Not the nicest of locations sandwiched between a couple of dual carriageways, but serves a purpose as being in between Braintree town and Chelmsford racecourse and good value for money. Ample parking and an M&S and a restaurant just next door. We stayed here during the hottest week ever in June and the Aircon in the communal areas was excellent however was not working in a couple of the rooms. This was not too much of a problem as the rooms were big and cool and we were provided with large fans. Comfy beds and a decent shower although quite dated perfectly acceptable. Standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast but was pretty good. Didn’t try any evening meals but the service at the bar was good in the evenings and they were showing the World Cup matches ! Excellent service overall from all members of staff.
