  What can I say about Basildon, You usually know what your getting from a Premier Inn but not in this case, Booking in was ok but as soon as we got there their was work going on, Not to much of a hardship but a bit inconvenient especially when the room shook,Started to get ready for a night out & bath was lukewarm at the very best if I had topped up with cold water it would of been like swimming in the channel in December,The TV was glitching the whole time we was there & the breakfast was not ready with no beans,eggs,hash browns or sausages or juices out, Not something you expect from Premier Inn.With the competition so very close by can’t say we will be booking there again..

  Sammy on the night shift she is an absolute diamond I had no phone cable to charge my phone and she gave me one with no hesitation so premier in take note a banging staff member there

  This hotel was extremely filthy the towels had black marks on them, the fan had years of built up dust the hotel carpets in the lobby and bedroom smelt like vomit I could t imagine staying there in extremely severe hot weather my kids refused to wash in that hotel it needs a complete refurbishment and renovation disgusting

  We've stayed at this hotel numerous times - not out of any desire to return, but simply because there's little other choice in the area. On arrival, rather than the standard practice of just confirming the name on the booking, we were quizzed with multiple questions. No big deal, but once the receptionist confirmed he was looking at our reservation, it made you wonder why the extra questions were needed at all. We were then assigned the room furthest from reception and closest to the A127 - easily the noisiest in the hotel. When we asked to change, he simply pointed at the screen and said, "System says no." Only after some coaxing did he try again, and we eventually got a room change. Premier Inn has introduced what feels like a cost-cutting measure dressed up as a policy: guests now have to specifically ask if they don't want to keep damp towels or come back to an unmade room. When we asked for ours to be freshened up, we were told this only applies to guests staying six nights or more, so ours might not be included. This directly contradicts the hotel's own signage (see photo). On top of that, the rooms were unbearably hot, even with the little desk fan running on full - and this wasn't even during a heatwave. The rooms themselves are shabby, and the whole hotel and its surroundings have a neglected, run-down feel. All in all, a horrible experience.

  Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice The room was stifling hot with no air con - presumably they knew this as they included an electric fan, but the window opened only an inch 😕 The mattress was also very very hard, to the point of being uncomfortable. The digital TV signal also glitched in and out, we didn't even keep the telly on for long as it became hard to watch. Didn't rest well here - not the staffs fault, but maybe these rooms need an update and refresh
