Ok, I know everyone is presently complaining about the heat. But no air con in the room.thetevare two good fans but that is only pushing the air around, a missed opportunity to combine heating and air con and it probably cheaper to Ron than the two fans (maybe). Let's start with the disappointments so far! I booked with inclusive breakfast but was told the restaurant was closed until Mon 4th it the 29th today. No notification to me about this, very poor. I get to the room and I am suddenly met with a robot hoover that appears from under the bed, just the avstaff member just opens the door and say sorry I dint know you were in!. Checking is from 3pm I got here at 3:40.
It's 36 degrees on my car thermometer and the room reads 30 degrees
Romm is ok but the robot hadn't finished the floor when it was removed. Multiple marks on the ceilingS, mark on 3 of the walls some as big as 8".
Bathroom, generally tidy. Marks on the sink shower ceiling back mouot on one corner and cracked at ceiling joint showing unpainted ceiling. There are many other things in the images I have taken.
The welcome was nice and that is when I found out about breakfast and of course no evening meal near to hand either.
Useful learning tip to enhance the guest experience.
1) tell guest before they arrive about the food situation, especially as they paid in advance, the work being done didn't just happen but was planed 0/10 score
2) don't assume that others have stayed in your facilities, tell them about parking Thier access card in the slot to make things work.
3) Hire someone to come in and snag the room for clean up and a quick visit from maintenance would go a very long way to improving the guest experience.
There are many other areas I could mention but this already feels like war and peace.
Your receptionist is the only thing that stands out to me as positive. I am not expecting the Ritz but honestly it is "poor form indeed"
At least the last Travel lodge I want to had the best air conditioning in the room Well done Colechester

šØLong Post Alert!!!šØ
I was having my room renovated and needed a hotel nearby to sleep for a couple of nights. I walked in about 10pm and checked in with sleepy eyes! As soon I entered the roomā¦the sleep disappeared from my eyes like the speed of light!! What a filthy bathroom!! OMG!!š¤¢š¤¢š¤¢š„²
As much as the room was small I wouldnāt have minded but the bathroom was filthy and honestly disgusting!!! This is a disgrace!! How are you guys allowed to operate this kind of room as hotel and charge such amount?? Infact, I wouldnāt have slept in there if it was offered to me for free!! I wish I could upload the short video I made. The picture you see is the bathroom floor!!! Revolting 𤢠is understatementā¼ļø
I only gave this post a two star because of the nice Lady at the reception. I came out of the room and told her I couldnāt sleep in there so am checking out. (She was sympathetic knowing I had told her I was tired and needed to sleep)
And to top it all, I had to pay £6.50 for the parking!!!! (This is daylight robbery) I was there literally 15min from checking in and walking into the room and walking back out.
Not the least impressed! š„¹
