  Lovely stay at Premier Inn York Place. Great communication throughout our stay. Location is excellent, particularly for the New Town and Leith with a tram stop close by. Our premier plus room was lovely, spacious, clean and quiet with all the usual comforts. Breakfast was fresh, well cooked with no wait. All hotel staff from reception, breakfast room and cleaning services were welcoming, helpful and professional. This was our second stay here and won’t be our last.

  My daughter and I stayed here for three nights during our visit to Edinburgh. The hotel was adequate but dated and a bit dirty. I had a stained bath towel and also found a stain on my duvet. The carpet in the room was quite dirty. The room was more spacious than other hotels we have stayed in which was a nice surprise. We had the breakfast buffet for 2 of the mornings and it was just serviceable, but not remarkable. Just on the outskirts of the main attractions with easy walkability to everything. Not sure I would stay here again due to the cleanliness factor.

  Note i wasnt staying here so thats why i couldnt score rooms 5/5 Stars! 10 out of 10! An absolute gem! I was a walk-in guest just looking to eat, and it is amazing that you can enjoy their meals even if you aren't staying at the hotel. While looking at the room prices for Edinburgh, I also noticed they are incredibly reasonable. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. As someone who has lived with allergies all my life, eating out can be stressful, but the team here was amazing. They offered to cook my meal completely fresh from scratch to avoid any risk of cross-contamination from the buffet. They even came over to guide and warn me about what was safe, which I deeply appreciated. Fantastic service and peace of mind!

  Hotel is very quiet considering is situated in the heart of the city with the OMNI centre and St James Quarter, both are within a five minute walk. Plus there’s a tram stop a few hundred yards away. My room and the hotel was very clean and tidy. However when I booked it there was no mention on the app that the hotel has basement rooms so if you’re staying for more than a few nights spend a bit more money to stand more of a chance of getting a room with a view. I didn’t spend extra but got lucky. There are 15 basement rooms btw. The television has standard free view and connections for a tablet/phone but if you’re hoping to watch films from your iPad on it then forget it. It doesn’t support screen mirroring from a iPad and even if you connect it wired you still can’t watch anything unless it’s videos on YouTube. Nothing paid and copyrighted is watchable.

  There is a safety issue here. Someone was repeatedly knocking at our door last night about 12:45 am but not answering us when we called out. There is no room phone do we could not easily call the front desk. There was no phone number displayed in our room for the front desk. After a google search, we found a number but were answered by a digital assistant. My husband tried twice to get through the digital assistant to a human being but failed. I was able to get a human on the third try. This took us a half hour. In the mean time the person left. For safety, this hotel needs to display a phone number for assistance in the room and to make provisions for getting a human on the phone quickly.
