  We stayed at Premier Inn Edinburgh Waverley as a family with our little one, and the experience was genuinely very good from the moment we arrived. We reached Edinburgh around 11–11:30 in the morning, much earlier than the 3 PM check-in time. I was slightly worried about what we would do with all our luggage until then, but the staff immediately offered to store everything for us without any charge or fuss. Later, seeing that we were travelling with a small child, they also managed to get us into our room a little earlier. It may sound like a small thing, but when you're travelling with a kid and luggage, these small gestures make a huge difference. The staff deserves a special mention. Everyone we interacted with was extremely courteous and respectful. Whenever we requested something, it was actually taken seriously and followed through. Housekeeping was equally good — whenever we asked for the room to be cleaned, we came back to a properly neat and clean room. Breakfast was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it during our stay. Overall, the hotel itself is comfortable and very well maintained. But probably the biggest advantage of this Premier Inn is the location. You are right in the middle of Edinburgh with both New Town and Old Town easily accessible on foot. A lot of places are literally a few minutes away, and even Edinburgh Castle is only around a 12–15 minute walk. We hardly felt the need to worry about transport while exploring the city. We had a very comfortable stay here, especially as a family travelling with a young child. Great location, genuinely helpful people and none of the unnecessary hassle that can sometimes come with hotels. I would happily stay here again whenever we return to Edinburgh.

  Great, budget-friendly hotel for solo travellers, families, business or leisure. Easy to locate (near the Scott Monument,) close, reasonable walking distance to iconic tourist spots, pubs, restaurants, and travel hubs like the train station and the tram. Very quiet despite being in a central location of the city; ask for a courtyard room for extra peace. Note: the front entrance is on a pedestrian-only street, so be prepared to walk from your vehicle, bus, cab, or ride-share. Also, you will need to request room servicing (fresh towels, clean sheets, etc.) daily from the front desk. Wifi signal is reasonable, depending on your needs and expectations. Food is standard hotel fare but, if you prefer, there are plenty of nearby places to grab a bite. Some drawbacks: no phone in my room to contact the front desk, nor any refrigerator.

  Decently sized rooms located in a side street. The locations is not along a main tourist street which was nice, while still being in the center. The noise isolation from the windows was very good even though there were people partying on the street we could not hear them. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly and arrived once you rang the doorbell in the lobby. A bit expensive for what it is, but this issue seems to plague most of Edinburgh center.

  L’hotel è in una posizione eccellente per visitare Edimburgo. Il personale (come tutti i scozzesi) è stato sempre molto gentile e disponibile. Le camere sono il vero problema di questo hotel: la moquette non è perfettamente pulita e lavata, la stanza è piccola e in pratica i nostri 4 letti erano quasi tutti uniti…inoltre il quarto letto era decisamente più “arrangiato” essendo una brandina. Nel nostro bagno la doccia non emetteva acqua fredda e quindi ci siamo quasi ustionati per lavarci, lo abbiamo segnalato alla reception ma non è stato possibile né risolvere il problema né cambiare camera. Per 4 persone abbiamo trovato in bagno solo un set di asciugamani, ma appena richiesto ne abbiamo ricevuto un altro con grande gentilezza dell’operatrice.

  Rooms are basic but comfortable. Staff are lovely and very keen to assist with any needs, however there doesn't seem to be enough staff working there, seems like they are all on triple duty trying to manage reception, the restaurant and bar, which led to requests for cleaning being missed. Loved the location, right in the middle of town, easy to access trains, busses and trams, as well as restaurants and shopping from here.
