  The room service was taking too long. The bathroom robe was dirty when we checked in. The hotel is understaffed, so most requests took veeery long. The only good thing about this hotel was it’s location.

  Don’t be fooled by the nice lobby. This hotel really should be re-branded as a Holiday Inn because it is in no sense a luxury hotel. The rooms are small, dark, and drab, with uncomfortable furniture, very cheap gray carpet and very dated decor that reminds me most of a Holiday Inn I stayed in in 1998. The rooms are also noisy—I was woken up several times by people in the halls. The bathroom, while updated, is too small to be practical, with no room to put toiletries. The lobby is beautiful, the location is great, and the service was solid— but it doesn’t make up for the low quality of the rooms. It hurts the Intercontinental brand for this very dated property to be branded as luxury when it is not.

  This intercontinental hotel has a different approach to the business. They prioritise loud wedding organisations rather than the hospitality that would normally be offered to hotel guests. Antisocially loud wedding parties that are held on the ground floor may keep you awake all night long. It would be wrong to book this hotel expecting a similar experience to London O2 intercontinental. After a sleepless night here, I had to move over to a nearby budget hotel which was quite, cheaper, and at similar standards. Its location proximity to major landmarks and Waverley station is great. Since peace and quiet are my priorities, I don’t think I will be booking this hotel either for my groups or myself again.

  Lovely old building, great location and clean. The rooms are a let down. Horribly tiny even for Europe the picture looks nice the the wall is a foot away from the end of the bed. Carpets could definitely use some loving. Bed was too small for two people.

  Bad start to our vacation. Our blinds were left open at the hottest time of year, so when we came back each day, our room was boiling (the weak AC could not keep up). If you stay in 429, and corresponding top/bottom of it, you will be awaken multiple times during the night due to garbage collectors in the alley way outside. There seems to be little to 0 soundproofing for the rooms. I expected some tradeoffs for an older building, but for the price that was paid, this was extremely disappointing.
