  We recently got married in Edinburgh and had several family members staying at the Hotel Indigo (via a group block/allocation). We are so glad we selected it as one of our hotels – it was a great choice for our overseas guests! From the start, Claire was brilliant, showing me around and making it easy to arrange a group block. When I saw the hotel, I knew it would be a good choice: well-tended, convenient location, charming and unique rooms. Great value for the price too. Our guests were comfortable in their rooms and enjoyed the café/bar. The staff I encountered when visiting were also very helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel to those visiting Edinburgh, and I think many of our wedding guests would happily stay there again. Claire and the events team were also amazing in their communication and customer service. If you are arranging a group block or event, this would be a great venue.

  Absolutely loved our stay here. Staff was cheerful and helpful. The room was amazing and the location was wonderful. I attached a photo of our room and views from the room. It's right on Princes St so it can be loud during the day, but we didn't have any issues at night. The breakfast was also tremendous. I really miss my Scottish Oats and Green Smoothie!

  The place is stellar. Staff, rooms, location, bar service - all were wonderful. It's so close to Waverly station and so beautiful it is hard to beat.

  We had a great one night stay at hotel indigo. Very well located in the centre of Edinburgh with easy access to everything. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was excellent, clean with a very comfortable bed. We had the city view kings suite and it was excellent and good value compared to the other hotels of similar level in that area! We didn't eat in the restaurant but breakfast was very and good and the bar was a nice place to grab a drink before heading out for the evening. If you park in st James car park ask at reception for the discount voucher. Would definitely return again when staying in Edinburgh!

  To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the unacceptable experience my 12-year-old son and I encountered at your hotel on the night of May 26th We arrived at the hotel around 1:00 AM. Upon ringing the bell, the receptionist informed us that we could not stay at the hotel and that we were being transferred to another hotel via taxi for the night. The excuse provided was that "the hotel was flooded." However, we were only transferred for a single night, which clearly indicates that this was a classic case of overbooking and our room had been sold to someone else. When I asked why we were not notified in advance, the staff gave a completely unprofessional excuse, claiming they did not have my contact number. This is entirely unacceptable. My booking was made through Hotels.com, meaning both the platform and the hotel had direct access to my email address and booking details to contact me or the agency. No email was sent, and no attempt was made to reach out. Forcing a parent and a 12-year-old child out onto the streets with all their luggage at 1:00 AM in a foreign country is a severe breach of hospitality duty and consumer rights. It was a deeply distressing, exhausting, and unsafe experience for my son and me. I demand a full explanation from the hotel management regarding this incident, as well as a significant compensation/refund through Hotels.com for the extreme inconvenience and distress caused. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will escalate this issue to official consumer protection authorities, travel regulatory bodies, and share this terrible experience across all major online review platforms (including TripAdvisor and Google Reviews). I expect a prompt response and a resolution to this matter. Sincerely,
