Although I wasn’t able to stay at the hotel due to unforeseen circumstances, I wanted to leave a review to recognise the exceptional customer service I received from Adam, the Senior Guest Service Manager.
From my very first email, Adam was incredibly compassionate, understanding and professional. He responded promptly to every message, took the time to explain everything clearly, and went above and beyond to help during what was a stressful situation. His kindness and genuine care made a real difference, and it’s rare to receive such thoughtful customer service.
While I didn’t get the chance to experience the hotel itself this time, the way I was treated has already given me complete confidence in returning. I’ll certainly be booking here when I visit Edinburgh, and I hope to thank Adam in person.
Thank you again, Adam, for your outstanding service. You are a real credit to Holiday Inn Express.

We had a lovely stay at Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre during our trip to Scotland. The hotel's location is fantastic, it's within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, many historic attractions, shops, pubs, and restaurants, making it the perfect base for exploring the city.
Our room was elegant, cosy, and very comfortable. As IHG members, we really appreciated the complimentary drinks and snacks, which made us feel welcome.
Breakfast offered a great selection, although it can get quite busy, so I'd recommend going early to avoid the crowds.
A special thank you to Miguel, who was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. His excellent customer service made our visit even more enjoyable.
One of my favourite parts of the trip was discovering Jollibee Edinburgh, it brought back wonderful Filipino memories and made me feel right at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to Scotland to explore more of the beautiful Highlands. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express. The location is excellent and made it very easy for us to explore Edinburgh and join local tours.
The service was outstanding throughout our stay. The staff were always friendly, professional, and willing to help. They assisted us with arranging our Highland bus tour with Timberbush, which made our trip much smoother.
A special thank you to Adam, who went above and beyond to help us. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and understanding. We experienced an internal issue during our stay, and Adam handled it quickly and professionally. The team resolved everything with ease and made us feel genuinely cared for.
Overall, a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

We landed at EDI, hopped on a tram to the city center, and about 30 minutes later were right across the street from our home base for the week. We were diagonally across from a theater, down the street from a comedy show, and just a 10-minute walk from the train station, hop-on/hop-off bus, monuments, parks, Edinburgh Castle, and countless restaurants and pubs. Upon check-in, Arianna, who was warm and personable, helped us get settled on our preferred floor, explained the hotel amenities, breakfast hours, and nearby restaurants (some offering discounts), and provided a map of the area. Any questions during our stay were cheerfully answered by the front desk staff. The hotel stays busy with buses regularly loading and unloading tour groups. There’s an onsite bar, 24-hour coffee and tea, early continental breakfast starting at 5 a.m. by reception, and a full hot breakfast upstairs from 6:30 a.m., with plenty of seating both levels—just check the busy times. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cool. The shower could use an upgrade, but it had excellent water pressure. Room was attended to each day. We had a fantastic stay, would recommend it in a heartbeat, and would happily return if back in the area. Enjoy!
**Thanks for the quick response. Be sure to let Arianna and the rest of the helpful Reception Team know they were a big reason for why we enjoyed our stay!**

The hotel location is excellent, and you can easily walk into the old or new Edinburgh. All hotels in Edinburgh are expensive, but if you're accustomed to Holiday Inn Express in the USA/Canada you may have a bit of sticker shock. If you're coming from those regions, you'll recognize the Holiday Inn Express, squeezed into an older style city building. The breakfast was a great bonus to save a buck in the city and speed up your mornings. The staff was very friendly and professional. Check in was easy. I was a bit disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. No bugs or weird stains or anything, but we found what seemed to be cereal or something on the floor when we walked into our room. Made us question how thorough it had been cleaned. As mentioned, it feels like an old building (most things in Edinburgh are older than the aforementioned countries). As such, some things are a bit cramped and feel weathered. The room itself has the appearance it probably hasn't been remodeled in a decade a least. Bones are good, but feels like it's getting on in age.
If you can snag a good rate, or if this is the top end of your budget in an expensive city, you'll have a fine stay. If you're expecting something higher end for that price, or want something more romantic/chic, you'll likely need to either up the budget or look further out from the city center.
