  I stayed at this location twice in the last week. The first time went well and the staff were definitely helpful. The second time however, was beyond disappointing for what I would expect from a reputable hotel. I arrived at the hotel around 11pm for check-in and the room was not even cleaned prior, though this would have been expected to be done before the 12pm check-in time per the hotel rules - the washroom specifically was a whole mess. The staff at the reception just responded with “I can send two porters and you can show them the specific spots you want cleaned if you want” when I went back to them requesting a new room - this is definitely not the kind of response I would expect from a staff member either. It makes me question if any of the rooms are infact cleaned completely or if only “specific spots” that seem unclean after each guest checks out are really the only areas they clean up. I’ve stayed across multiple locations with Holiday Inn before but was never left this disappointed. The lobby and restaurant definitely seem nice and cozy, hopefully the service improves at this location and soon.

  Hygiene standards and cleanliness are low! We just stayed 3 nights and before using our shower, noticed a cluster of someone else's hair stuck on the shower wall. So I notified the front desk and requested they clean the shower properly to which they said they would. Then upon returning late that day, I was surprised our room had been "tidied" as standard service but the hair was STILL on the shower wall! So I notified them again the following day, to which they replied that they definitely would clean it, and I even asked whether it was their cleaning standard to only clean the tub or everything, to which they assured me they "clean everything"! Then later that night, we discovered they had not cleaned the shower AGAIN and the hair remained on the wall! Truly disgusting and disappointing to have had to use an unclean shower our whole stay and shows their level of hygiene practices and lack of care even after reporting it numerous times! I also noticed stains on my pillow case and hair on "clean" towels... gross!! Never staying again...

  The hotel location is great. We got the bus from the airport which stops right outside the hotel and cost £17 return (taxi was £38 one way). The hotel is located next to the zoo (2 minute walk) and a £4 bus ride into town. The reception, bar and restaurant and modern and relaxing and the staff are attentive and kind. However, our room was very tired and showed signs of being old and in poor state of repair. I've stayed at many IHG hotels and this didn't meet the expectation I was accustomed to. The TV was big, but had been altered to French and the tea and coffee provision was limited to 2 drinks total. Our breakfast was OK but I also think food opinions depend on what you're used to, so I will say there's plenty of it and the coffee is good. The location is the big selling point here and I'm sure we were just unlucky with our room allocation as in balance, I would stay here again (I think).

  This is by far the worst hotel I’ve seen anywhere in the world. The staff is so rude they did not even listen to my requests at check in today. I have sleep apnea and request a quiet room with a safe for my valuables and they gave me a room above the parking and no safe. The lady at reception in the afternoon today was very careless and there was no one to help With luggage. They have a sticker that says ring the bell if you need help with luggage but no one came even after ringing the bell and waiting for 10 minutes . In the evening when I called to complain just now, the guy the reception said “yeah cool I’ll pass it on”. This hotel should not be 4 stars, I’ve seen 1 star hotels have better staff who atleast know how to smile and greet.

  Front desk staff was was very helpful, kind and attentive. Loved the front staff.* **STOWED luggage upon early arrival! Had a great day walking about while knowing luggage was secured. Sarah checked us out. Very pleasant. Resturant overpriced. Meal was good...GBP 125 ($170 US). Service was pleasant. They do have an allergies menu, but pork and selfish are not mentioned to allergies and/or food many people try to avoid. Presentation shows clean, but floors had crumbs on them. Corners under the tables showed build up of crumbs. Lack of attention to detail. Public area toilets 🚻 were gross. The bottom of the toilets has feces on them AND BLOOD in the womens toilet. Floors clearly quickly mopped corners shoes heavy build up (did not have phone bathroom otherwise would have taken pictures). Missing toilet paper in areas.
