It’s the little things that matter, unfortunately this hotel didn’t really care for the details which added up to make this experience a little ‘meh’. We arrived in the mid afternoon and were greeted by some lovely receptionists who did the usual ‘this is that, that is this, breakfast over there’. They were really nice, even the staff in the breakfast bar the following morning. That’s probably the hotels best asset. Other things? A little bit of a struggle. You ready? The hotel looks filthy. The trouble being that the carpet is bright block colours so every spill or stain is there forever more. The lift is a little slow. Whilst the room looks good, albeit a little compact, again we had issues. The beds being on plastic wheels which squeak as you toss and turn, the bedding was a bit stale, along with the towels. We had trouble in the bathroom and tried to contain a flood. The walk in shower (it was a decommissioned accessible room) had this weird hump on the floor. Whilst it was meant to drain into the plug hole, half the water did so, the other half fell into the corner and into the main bedroom, only to need you stood naked shuffling the water back around the bathroom with your feet. Breakfast? again, on the ‘Meh’ side, just basic food, no charm, nothing. Outside areas weren’t kept clean, the smoking area is covered with grass growth through the paving slabs. Not so much an issue, but more that it shows they aren’t really bothered about the rest of the hotel. Saying that, there are some good parts to this story. The blackout blind works very well, the room TV is huge, the ice cool air conditioning is really good and effective and there is a complimentary tea and coffee station down at reception for drinks to be taken either way. Would I go again? For £182 per night, I’d probably go somewhere else, however if the price was what I would want to pay for something like this, I would more likely come back.

We totally enjoyed our short stay at Garner Hotel Haymarket. The room was cozy and very clean. The staff was exceptional..very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to walk to the Royal Mile with ease. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Anyone with half a brain knows "Cosy" means small - if you are over 6 feet tall you'll probably leave footprints on the wall at the end of the bed. Great base of operations location wise and the room is everything we needed. The reception staff were very helpful and gracious when I asked noob questions (I rarely stay in hotels) and spilled my coffee. One weird thing though is we forgot toothbrushes and asked at the reception and we're directed to go to a shop just down the street. Upon return to the hotel in the bathroom next to a mirror we noticed an information sticker from IHG saying they carry spare toothbrushes and shaving kits in case you forget... oh well 😂 We'd come back here because it's so close to Waverly Station and we had a great weekend.

O quarto tem o tamanho suficiente para 2 pessoas e para se ficar hospedado por por 3 dias. A localização é boa.

Incredibly friendly staff (despite how busy the hotel could be) in what is a rather convenient location. Not close to the old town, sure, but not every visit to Edinburgh centres itself in that area anyway. My main gripe (which I admit I neglected to mention on checkout) was how hot and stuffy the windowless room I had was. Having read the reviews here, I’ve since come to learn it’s controlled centrally. That doesn’t really pass for a hotel of this service class, especially as the vast majority of Premier Inns allow a guest to control the temperature in their individual rooms, without the need for staff input. I would never stay in this particular type of room again as the temperature reached above 24°C at one point during my stay. The room size is fine for around two nights, perhaps three at a push. I’d consider staying here again, but only in a room with a window, and only if there’s a way for the central control to be overridden. Otherwise I’m just better off giving my money to Premier Inn instead.
