Conveniently located within Durham City. Car park to rear which is chargeable.
The hotel used to be the Counth Council head quarters and still has some lost original features such as stained glass windows, marble pillars and Victorian tiled corridors and stairwells.
Nicely refurbished rooms and en suite bathrooms. Onsite bar serving draught beers, great range of spirits and wines and best cocktail menu I have seen.
Also onsite Marco Pierre White restaurant where we ate last night. Good menu choices and good quality food with great service.
Not the first time we have stayed here and always look forward to coming back.
A fantastic stay. Beautiful building with a stunning dining room/bar. Lovely comfortable room. A fish option in the breakfast buffet would be nice for us non-meat eaters.

Old school and you can’t mistake that. Rooms and hallways I would imagine are not too different from when it was a school. Good location for Durham centre. Found the mattress very uncomfortable as well as the pillows. Bathroom was nice. Some of the hallway/corridor areas were looking a bit tired. Main entrance looked nice tho. £60 for parking for three nights checked in around 1700 leaving at 1130 so no discount for less than 24 hrs on the last day.

What an amazing place to stay, loved it! The room whilst small was perfect in every way, it had everything we needed, a desk, black out blinds and an amazing shower. We loved the design of the place, it was well thought out.

Our stay at the lovely Hotel Indigo was superlative. Our only drawback was the room not being ready at checkin time as stated- however, once we were able to access it- lovely! Our room overlooked the Methodist Church, plenty of open air windows, lots of seating within the room, and a gorgous bathroom with lovely amenities. We simply could not get over the beauty of the dining area...a kind server took us to the second level to look at the ceiling and carvings from above (what a treat!). We not only enjoyed lovely breakfasts, we also booked your Sunday roast- an amazing meal in itself! This was our first visit to the Hotel Indigo- it will not be our last!
