Conveniently located within Durham City. Car park to rear which is chargeable. The hotel used to be the Counth Council head quarters and still has some lost original features such as stained glass windows, marble pillars and Victorian tiled corridors and stairwells. Nicely refurbished rooms and en suite bathrooms. Onsite bar serving draught beers, great range of spirits and wines and best cocktail menu I have seen. Also onsite Marco Pierre White restaurant where we ate last night. Good menu choices and good quality food with great service. Not the first time we have stayed here and always look forward to coming back.
