Just checked in during a heatwave to find out there’s no air con! I thought the whole point of a Premier Inn was to guarantee a good night’s sleep? It’s absolutely sweltering in my room. Don’t think I’ll be sleeping a wink. When I asked the guy on reception he told me that they mention that there’s no aircon on the website. But the fact is that there’s an aircon controller on the wall and a vent in the wall. So clearly they DID have aircon, it’s broken and they’ve decided not to fix it. When I quizzed the guy on reception about this he said “It hasn’t worked for a year.” So they’ve had 12 months to get it fixed! Clearly this is a case of profits being more important than customer comfort. Severely disappointed as Premier Inn are usually pretty reliable. But I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here in the summer months - ironic, as it’s a beach town and that’s when most people would probably want to stay! 🤦‍♂️

Nice hotel with a very friendly and welcoming reception team. We were given a great family room with huge windows. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely designed for families with children. Unfortunately, there was one major issue that completely ruined our stay and is the reason we will never return. The air conditioning did not work at all, and the room became unbearably hot. Normally, this could have been solved by opening the windows, but they were fitted with restrictors and could barely be opened. As a result, we had to spend the night in an overheated room with our small children and ended up taking cold showers just to cope with the heat. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience. It’s a real shame because the hotel itself is lovely and has a lot of potential. However, without functioning air conditioning or proper ventilation, we would not stay here again. Never again.

What started as quite a terrible experience was completely turned around by one member of staff: Lacey. On arrival, the area outside the hotel felt very uncomfortable. There were people hanging around outside the YMCA directly next door, and we felt hassled before we had even properly got into the hotel. It did not create the best first impression at all, and honestly, it put us on edge straight away. Once inside, it also appeared that there was only one person working, as the same member of staff seemed to be running between reception and the bar. We later found out this was Lacey, who was not simply a receptionist or bartender, but the Duty Manager. She was clearly rushed off her feet and doing the job of several people at once, yet somehow still managed to be warm, professional, friendly and genuinely helpful. Despite being incredibly busy, Lacey gave us the time of day. She greeted us with a smile, made us feel welcome, and took the time to answer our questions properly rather than making us feel like an inconvenience. Her knowledge of the hotel, the local area and transport links was excellent. We mentioned that we were visiting Poole the next day, and she explained the best bus options for getting there, which was genuinely useful. She also took the time to explain how the buffet worked and told us about the meal deal, which we ended up taking full advantage of. We would not have known about it or used it had she not taken the time to explain it to us. Although the start of the stay was unpleasant because of the situation outside the hotel, Lacey completely changed the tone of the visit. Her warmth, smile, professionalism and obvious passion for doing her job well made a real difference. Had Lacey not been there, this could easily have been a very negative experience. Instead, she made us feel looked after and valued as guests. She is a real asset to the hotel and to the Premier Inn brand itself.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience. We visited this Premier Inn because we liked the location and were genuinely interested in booking a stay. However, from the moment we arrived, the customer service was extremely poor. There was nobody at reception. We waited for more than five minutes, repeatedly ringing the bell and searching around the reception and café area for a member of staff. During that time, another couple with suitcases was also waiting and told us they had already been there for several minutes with no staff in sight. Eventually, we went outside and waited in our car directly in front of the hotel. After some time, we saw a member of staff, who appeared to be a manager, walking outside while chatting and laughing on his phone. I explained that I am recovering from major surgery and that we were considering staying at this hotel. We simply wanted to see one of the rooms because I needed to check the size of the bed and whether the room matched the photos online before making a booking. His response was surprisingly rude and dismissive. He immediately said that he could not show us a room and that we should simply rely on the photos online. We politely explained our situation again and asked a second time, but his attitude remained cold and unhelpful. He simply repeated that there was nothing more he could do for us. What disappointed us most was not that he refused the request, but the complete lack of empathy, professionalism, and customer care. We were potential guests ready to book for 3 nights , yet we were treated as though our questions were an inconvenience. Customer service starts with making people feel welcome. Unfortunately, that was completely missing during our visit. Based on this experience, we decided not to book and cannot recommend this hotel.

Probably worst PI I have stayed in for some time. On arrival waited 5 mins for someone to turn up to check in and after repeated buzzers on the doorbell (6pm at night) to let them know I was waiting, that was the only time over the two night stay I saw someone on reception. Premier room is very dated for such a new concept, head board was peeling, cot left in my room from previous persons stay, curtain hanging off the rail, window filthy so unable to take in the view well. On coming back into the room after work on the 2nd day the room hadn’t been made or restocked, no basics including water or additional pods for coffee machine. That included bed or towels not being made or replaced. You pay extra for the premium rooms and they give you less service than a basic. While location is excellent, area of Bournemouth the hotel is on feels like a Ghetto, a lot of drunk, drugs and homeless people wandering outside hotel you don’t truly feel safe and the hotel has security on in the evening which says a lot. Not put off by a premier room in other locations but will certainly give this hotel and room a wide berth going forward without improvements. Website did state the hotel didn’t have air con and for the age of building get this, but there is literally no air circulation at all, control unit broken in room and throwing out errors galore. Finally, a further concern that all fire doors are left open across the floor ( doors weren’t touched and locked open for two days while I was here), lift sounds like it’s on it knees too.
