Very clean and confortable as usual. However the evening meal was a disaster. Waited nearly an hour after ordering meal to be told what we ordered was not available !! Needless to say we eat elsewhere

On arrival around 4pm on a Sunday restaurant/bar was closed asked and was told be open later so we had a wander into local town on return went to have food and a drink only to be told fully booked (no mention of this earlier) but there was a Wetherspoons in town if we were hungry by a gentleman who only complained that although had just begun his shift felt like had been there all day in a rude manner…when said had just walked back from town he then said there is a different restaurant we could try..decided to go to M&S food in petrol station next door for a sandwich and get early night…after the experience of the night before we never even attempted breakfast left and went to a local service station

My wife and i stayed the night of June 15.
We arrived at around 6 p.m There is no reception, which was fine.
I entered my name on the automated check in. It didn’t recognize it. I knocked on the staff room door and a staff member came out and went on the computer and it took several minutes before he said my name.
The room was ok, but bath tubs are very high for getting in and out of to take a shower.
The big issue though was our breakfast experience the next morning.
We went to the dining room at just after 9 where we were greeted less than pleasantly by the surly manager who asked us if we had a meal booked. We didn’t but it was a large empty dining room.
He asked for my name and said he would check whether he could seat us and that it would be a cook to order breakfast, which i said was fine.
We were told we could also serve ourselves to the fruit, juices, bread and coffee.
The cook came out and asked what we wanted for our full English item by item, including size of beans and mushrooms.
I was able to make one coffee, but then directed on the screen to empty grounds. Not being familiar with the machine I asked the manager if he could assist. He seemed put out by the request, but pulled out a tray full of coffee grind pucks which he emptied in a concealed container.
When i sat down to eat some fruit he came over and told me he needed me to provide him with my information at the computer near the entrance which i did.
He had to log in and the process took several minutes at least during which the cooked meal arrived at our table.
When i was released and returned it was no longer the hot meal i ordered.
When we had finished breakfast he was standing by the kitchen bar eating a chocolate filled croissant he had taken from one of the trays.
I asked him if the breakfast would be added to the hotel bill and he told me to go to the end of the bar and he would come and take my payment.
He took a bite out of the croissant and put it back in the tray. LOL
He then met me at the checkout and took a couple of attempts to log in before i could pay and escape the weirdest dining room experience of my life.
It reminded us of Fawlty Towers but wasn’t as funny.

Second stay here and unfortunately a very different experience from the first.
Arrived to find three staff members near the bar who completely ignored us, so we used the self-check-in. The room smelt musty, had crumbs on the floor and looked very tired. We also discovered a small leak coming from behind the toilet during our stay.
As we were only there for one night and the non-existent welcome hadn't exactly inspired confidence in the team, we decided to contact Premier Inn after checkout. Their response? Nothing they could do as we hadn't raised it during the stay, never mind that the poor customer service on arrival was exactly why we hadn't.
Badly let down, and we won't be back.
