- DHDean Handley1 day ago5.0We stayed here for a few days. The room was spotless, although the bathroom did smell of urine. The beds were very comfy, but even with the air con on, I was still too warm. That could be me though, I am hot stuff! Breakfast was great, a lot of choice. Staff very helpful.

We stayed so we could visit the delightful Great British Car Journeys museum and the the following day the Crich Tramway Museum. Both worth a visit.

What let it down badly was restaurant, turned out that chef had left and 2-3 remaining hotel staff unable to cope, booked table around 5pm for 7:30 and didn't get served until after 9pm , really should have told customers up front so time to book elsewhere in Matlock

My son even sis sit was 5* and with such a lovely chef they can’t go wrong. The room was spacious, bed super comfy and all the facilities were spotless. Location is perfect for Matlock As it was a short 8 min drive to all the sites and restauraunts where we experienced great fish and chips and lovely ice cream flavours like mango, passion fruit and raspberry ripple. The whole experience was better than expected and l would highly recommend them.
