  We stayed at this Premier Inn to split up our journey before visiting Alton Towers, and it was a great choice. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and we all had a very good night’s sleep. On arrival, the host on reception gave us a lovely welcome. She was incredibly friendly, took the time to chat with my 10-year-old twin boys about their trip to Alton Towers, and genuinely engaged with them, which they loved. She also helped me with the allergy information for the restaurant, which I really appreciated. During our evening meal, the team did a great job accommodating my food allergy, which gave me confidence when dining. One small suggestion: I noticed there were several other guests with food allergies during the evening service, and it looked like there was only one allergen folder available. Perhaps displaying a QR code linking directly to the allergen information online (PDF or webpage) would make it quicker and easier for guests and staff, while still keeping the paper folder available for anyone who prefers it. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would happily return.

  Stayed here for 3 nights as it's a convenient base to explore the local area of Matlock Bath, and to visit the National Tramway Museum at Crich. Firstly - all the staff are wonderful. Very friendly, and very helpful. They really couldn't do enough for you. The food is great. Plenty of it it, of a decent quality and it's good value - especially if you go for the 'meal deal'. Good sized free car park, and good free wifi. It's housekeeping that badly lets this Premier Inn down. We asked for our room to be serviced on two of the mornings, primarily as it's impossible for the towels to dry before the next use. The fist time we were left without towels, bath-mat, mugs, or tea/coffee. And the second time our room hadn't been touched. Plus, both the duvet cover and bed-sheet had holes of approx 1cm-square. Housekeeping really needs to improve as it spoils the guests' experience.
