  Now the restaurant is closed no evening meal no breakfast it’s kind of a bit sad as the food was pretty good. Probably won’t stay here again shame as it’s a great location

  Booked the hotel here to visit someone special. Good rooms, nice BIG bath :) amazing costumer service, cleaning was impeccable aswell! Emma was very friendly and always open for some smalltalk. And she is always willing to assist. The other staff are really profesional and helpful we always felt welcome and seen. (The ice cold water was amazing) Ive loved my stay here if im coming back id book again.

  We stayed here as we needed to visit family in South Derby. It was very convenient and easy to find. Plenty of car parking, friendly staff (Emma was really helpful) and comfortable room. It was hot but, as there is no air conditioning we were given two fans which helped. It was very quiet and we were given complimentary croissants for breakfast as the restaurant is closed. We enjoyed our short stay.

  god help you if you're visiting here during heatwaves or the summer. no air conditioning at all and the windows only open about 3cm - so if you think leaving them open during the night will disperse the hot stuffy air, think again. they do provide a couple of fans, the 360-rotation fan was like a jet engine! it helped me to get to sleep but ultimately still woke up hot and bothered, sweating before i've even left the hotel for the day. i actually had to tell my workplace to switch to the holiday inn because it was unbearable, so i only stayed for 5 days rather than 10. the room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed. however the room is tired, multiple fittings had holes and cracks in the walls, shower water pressure was bad, bathroom plughole had a nasty smell coming from it (had to keep the door closed), the USB/HDMI sockets directly under the TV didn't work at all, the TV is fixed so close to the wall that you can't plug anything in without a great deal of effort. the wi-fi was ok but kept dropping in and out, had to constantly reconnect. the signal with o2 was essentially non-existent but i did check o2 status and allegedly there was a mast not working nearby. the restaurant/bar is closed due to refurbishment but i was pre-warned about this. staff were friendly enough but they're probably tired of this kind of feedback. i don't blame the staff, i blame the people at the top who ultimately make the decisions not to upgrade the building and ignore their customers feedback. all in all... i would recommend this hotel for the winter months for cheap(ish) budget stays. for shoulder seasons and summer months, i fully recommend you pay the extra tenner per night for a holiday inn room and get a good nights sleep (which didn't come with any of the issues above)
