Lady on reception was so friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and despite how hot the temperatures have been at 31 degrees the rooms were cool and very comfortable temperature with a fantastic 360fan. Bar staff were so friendly to my son gave his a big glass of ice. Good location, great for morning coffee before a day at Alton Towers.

We had an amazing time here. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had at a hotel, excellent cooking from chef Simon

What a disappointment, normally I stay at the travelodge, which is excellent, unfortunately they were fully booked so I booked the Premier inn, opted for the meal deal and expected the stay to be at least as good. The parking with a big van was interesting , check in was simple and the room was ok. The water supply to the bathroom sink was poor, the electric points were badly positioned with none anywhere near the bed. All this was acceptable however the meal was a joke, virtually everything comes with chips but they had run out so offered rice as an alternative, burger with rice? Fish and rice? Mixed grill with rice?? What a bad option? Working all day and paying upfront for the meal to be offered rice instead of chips wasn't good. I opted for the mixed grill but as I don't eat rice it wasn't a really good meal. After eating the main, the plate was taken and I was told my dessert would follow. 45min later I asked when my dessert would arrive as it was now getting late, it arrived 10 mins later with no sign of an apology for the delay.
Breakfast service was much better as it was self service but some ingredients were not available. Don't think I will be back

We have stayed here on quite a few occasions for visiting friends who live in Derby, the service is always good and the hotel has electric vehicle charging stations which was perfect for us.
