  A very nice and clean hotel, although its best days are behind it. The restaurant, however, is top-class. The staff are very friendly.

  Excellent service from the girl serving at the bar. My meal had an unexpected ingredient and this was replaced free of charge . Very happy.

  Lovely very quiet location. The staff are excellent. The rooms are perfect and the food is four out of five. Fair value.

  The good stuff: friendly, super-helpful staff, excellent breakfast; quick service for evening meals; good location; nice shower gel in the bathroom. Special call out to the staff at breakfast (Nahid?) and reception (Roy) for top service. The not-so good: it's a little tired looking. The TV in the room for example, was badly fitted (ie: didn't actually fit) into the TV unit, so it jutted out in to the room. There's no power socket by the bed, and not a single USB socket to be found in the room. The windows (room 132) were virtually opaque on the outside. The door needs oiling as it screamed liked a murdered cat when it was opened or closed. And please: gaffer tape holding the carpet together in the downstairs corridor? Really? The weird: I discovered a neatly rolled spliff in the room, obviously dropped by a previous guest, and not noticed by housekeeping, which was odd, as the room was spotless. It got flushed down the toilet (which worked fine, unlike the sink which took an age to drain). The building is fine, the staff superb, food excellent, but this property just needs a bit of money spent on modernising the rooms.
