My experience of golden sands is positive although I think there could be more available on site for the older children.
Soft play was available but has gone I think this would be good to bring back to keep the little ones entertained.
The play park could do with being modernised.
The site itself is kept nice and well maintained.
The staff are lovely and very helpful
The park beach hut when open is a positive, could do with a wider selection and snacks for the kids.
Entertainment in the evening is a bit hit and miss but when good it is a nice evening
Its not a far walk to other amenities in the area.

Had a eventful stay in a caravan on golden sands. My father had a medical emergency on the day we arrived and the day before we left. The staff in reception and the security staff on Thursday night were amazing and really helpful. The caravan was lovely and even though it was not book directly with away resort everyone was really great. Will definitely book again but directly from away resort.

Basic even though it was supposed to be a luxury caravan. Missing basis like TV in bedroom, USB points and hoover. I could go on but it's done with now. Best part we're the walks along the seafront to Towyn or Rhyl the other way.

A family friendly holiday park. To be avoided if you crave peace and quiet. The narrow road, just off a busy junction, into the park can be annoying, and there is only one barrier for getting in and going out. This leads to congestion.
That aside the park is well positioned giving access to the seafront and beach. You can walk for miles in either direction once out on the coastal path. Knightley's funfair is a short walk away down the coastal path.
The park entertainment is innovative - silent discos, quizzes you do on your phone, plus the usual diet of bingo and singers. There is an amusement arcade and the clubhouse does reasonable food (including vegan options). There is also a launderette onsite, a swimming pool, and a large children's play area.
I take issue with the park's 'do not feed the seagulls' stance. These are red listed birds. Humans have over fished for decades, and took natural habitat away from these beautiful, intelligent birds. We should be helping them in any way we can and humans make far more mess, leave more rubbish, and are noisier than any seagull trying to survive.
There are plenty of shops nearby (including an Asda supermarket) and a Costa Coffee a short drive away in the retail park.
If you have a large noisy family then this park is ideal for you - just please be nice to the seagulls'. If you are after a bit of peace and quiet, then either stay out of season, or stay somewhere else. Out of season it is much quieter and you can really enjoy the coastal walks. At popular times you will be disturbed at all hours by people slamming car doors, arguing loudly, of kids screaming at each other. You also constantly hear the noise of kids running up and down inside the caravans. For some reason this noise just carries and after several hours of hearing it you can't help but get annoyed.
Rhyl, Towyn, and Prestatyn all have plenty of things to amuse any person and this park is well located for you to explore each of them.
