We had a fantastic 3-night stay at Staybridge Suites Cardiff with my wife and our 9-month-old baby, and we would definitely stay here again. We booked a King Suite, which gave us loads of space, with a separate bedroom and living room. This was perfect with a baby, as we could put her to bed without having to sit quietly in the bedroom all evening. The fully functioning kitchen was also a huge bonus for preparing food and bottles for our little one, and the cot provided by the hotel was really appreciated. The room was exceptionally clean and we had a great view from the balcony. The location was also perfect — right between Cardiff city centre and the Bay, making it really easy to get around and explore. Breakfast was fairly average, but it’s included in the stay so we certainly couldn’t complain. One thing we particularly liked was the social evenings they held for guests, with complimentary beer, wine and nibbles. We were there for three nights and had the opportunity to enjoy this during our stay, which was a really nice touch. Overall, a fantastic hotel, especially for families. Spacious rooms, great facilities, friendly atmosphere and an excellent location. We would highly recommend Staybridge Suites Cardiff and would happily stay here again!

I'm normally a big fan of IHG's hotels, but I wouldn't personally recommend this one. I don't have many positives about my stay here, but I will start with those: It's walkable distance from the main train station. They offer bag checking The location is quite quiet considering it's proximity to the centre. There's a dishwasher and a fridge in the room, and laundry facilities on site. Cons, I have a few of these but I will include the main ones: Firstly, the air conditioning, it's obviously very efficient but unfortunately when we checked in our room had been cooled to an ice box temperature. It's centrally controlled so you can't adjust it yourself, you can't even turn it off. It was about 23c outside in the day so had we been able to open a window, air conditioning wouldn't have even been needed. Unfortunately the room had no openable windows. We asked at reception if the air con could be turn to a slightly higher temperature, however we realised the temperature had been adjusted to 25c! Which was way too hot and in fact blowing hot air so it felt hotter (in August, during the worst heatwave Europe has ever experienced!) and we had to go down at about 1:25) in the morning and request they turn it down because we were sweating (reception closes at 1:30 so this was very stressful). Secondly, although it's a studio with a kitchenette, there was only one dining chair? So if you want to eat in your room I guess you have to take turns or sit on the bed? We opted for sitting on the bed but I would rather not sit on the bed I'm intending to sleep in with food. Thirdly, the lamps, etc were very dusty although the rest of the cleaning seemed a good standard it obviously eases a concern for how thorough they are. Lastly, the pillows were literally the worst hotel pillows I've ever experienced. They were made of lumps. Like, I'm talking the cheap pillows you got from Asda before you went to university lumpy. No amount of fluffing resolved this and it really impacted my sleep quality. I wouldn't stay here again if I had another option.

Rooms very spacy and well-equipped with a balcony overlooking a dirty canal. Unfortunately the sofa bed was a bit too small for 2 teenagers. Plates and forks and knives only for 3 people. Had to get more from the breakfast room. Breakfast not as expected in a 4 star hotel. No full breakfast. No tomatoes, no mushrooms. Just beans, egg and either ham or sausages. Coffee machine out of order. Had to use coffee sticks instead and share a kettle with everybody else. Permanently had to ask for re-fills. Parking 10 GBP per night. Would come again for the room but not for the rest.

Stayed for an event at Cardiff Castle. Check in was nice and easy. Dealt with Bailey both times we came to the desk and he was very nice, helpful and knowlagable about what was going on and got us squared away very quickly. Was about a 20 minute walk to the center but is very clean and well lit so even walking back late after an event was fine. Parking is first come first serve and £10 per night which is cheap compared to others in the area. There is pay and display street parking to around the corner that seemed plentiful. Room was very big, clean and had great facilitys. Big comfy bed and very good working AC too. Breakfast was a nice continental style buffet which was pretty decent too. Bit of a late check-in time of 3 but that seems to be more common but 11oclock check out was nice.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere very clean rooms with kitchenette. The staff have been fantastic and very helpful and considerate to my pregnant daughter. Bar in holiday inn next door available to use. Nice breakfast a little limited in cooked choices eggs bacon beans, but plenty of fruit yogurt porridge toast croissant pan a chocolate etc to pick from. You won't go hungry. Free tea and coffee all day which is a nice touch. The reception staff were fantastic on arrival and very helpful. Short walk to cardiff bay approximately 15 to 20 minutes but Ubers available for very reasonable price cheaper than parking in city center or the bay
